Watching you form metal is almost as good as sex. To make it custom and look like it was stamped at the factory is high art indeed. Outstanding work worthy of SEMA.
here's my 2 cents i studied the stock hood and follow this - you have two ribs almost the full length of the hood ? if you cut on the "inside of the rib edge" in the area needed to be raised ( and flipped that panel over ) you would have if not the height needed , but close , in the finish product it very close mimics the hood , also you lost me on the plyers ? were they to bend the tabs ?
While you are pretty close with the cut and shut theory, it won't work the way you are thinking because when you flip it over to get the scoop, the crown would be sunk down rather than upwards.
If the blade says use Guard they know why...you may get away today but there is that one day, trust me we all learned the hard way...Index finger is never the same

High quality commentary included. Appreciated.
I think the scoop looks great! Nice and subtle. Gives it a sporty appearance along with the wing and the other modifications.

@@2redrovers if it's down to start ? flipping it over would bring it up ?
I'm guessing the pliers are to step the tabs down just enough so the fill piece stays flush with the hood for tacking.

Lower motor mounts weren't an option?
