I’ve seen some complains about discoloration on deep purple. I recently switched from deep purple to space black, and I’m glad I did. Space black looks so sleek and elegant 🖤
I ordered the 14 Pro in Space Black. Coming from an 11 Pro Max in Midnight Green I wanted a smaller phone as this feels like a brick. Also I’m glad I went for Black this time and not Purple as after a few months I would’ve regretted it like I did a few months after getting midnight green instead of the Space Grey back then
Coming from a 11 pro max space grey since it cracked recently, hopefully the space black is a bit darker in person but I love the jet black stainless steel on the 14 pro max.

Midnight green is to me still the best color. I ordered a purple 14pro to replace my midnight green 11 pro and I’m already getting upset. There’s just nothing like this grayish green out there. Black phones are so boring imo and the only other color I’ve cared for is the Sierra Blue on iPhone 13 and maybe the new white which looks kind of pearly.. but I wish they’d bring back the midnight green

Both beautiful color. But new space black is hot ! Camera lenses looks bigger because black rounder matches black camera lenses. And front look so much cleaner too!
Just got my 14 pro on Monday after launch 256gb and same color. Not gonna lie it’s pretty damn sick. Anxious for some good weather to test the cameras. This is my first pro model as my last iPhone was the regular 13.

I remember seeing graphite and thinking whoa, this color is really dynamic and switches a lot with light but when I saw the new space black I thought okay, this is officially grey now. It does play with light but not like graphite. I also agree with you that if they just left the back graphite and blackened the new areas, it would have been a home run. Last year I bought graphite then made a mistake and returned it for Sierra Blue so this year I wanted graphite and I like it so much I'm skipping the 14 PM and just getting the 13 PM again in graphite. Next year I'll go for a 15 PM in SB or Silver if they make it even darker. Great review as usual. Thanks for doing it.
I originally wasn’t going to upgrade this year since I only have the 13 pro mad but I couldn’t resist on the trade in offer 😂. I would only have to be paying 150-200 left so I couldn’t pass up on the pro. And I am downsizing phone sizes because honestly after having the 13 pro max and using it daily, the phone has gotten a bit cumbersome for me. But even though I will be sacrificing some battery life, I think I will be just fine!
Graphite Black definitely looks a lot better. Has that surgical steel look, more industrial I love it. They really didn’t do a great job with colors this year except the white one I do like the pearl look. But I’d much rather have graphite, Sierra blue and midnight green

There are angles where the light reflects on both in a way that they look the same. But then from a distance and especially the polished parts, the new one looks darker
The larger cameras, logo, and thicker body almost make the 14 pro look like a 14 mini. The screen is actually a hair bigger, but the other proportions create the illusion that it’s a smaller phone.

Thanks you! I personally would not recommend upgrading this year, the 13 Pro is still perfect and the money difference isn’t worth getting the 14 Pro. The 15 Pro will at least bring some new changes that will be worth the upgrade!

I went for the black. I am not a guy who likes boring colours so it was difficult. The silver one for me, has a distracting reflection from the polished stainless steel around the frame, viewed straight on. The gold one is too subdued. I was disappointed seeing this. The best gold to me, was the Rose gold on the iPhone 6s. The gold looks darker copper. The Pearly white on the back is also too subdued to be honest. The deep purple one might get depressing or edgy, viewing it over time. It’s like a turgid dark purple grey, with sheen. This is like thanos in Marvel universe to me. Fun at first. If only they brought out a turquoise blue colour, or a faded yellow on the iPhone 14 pro, I would buy in 60s. Not much choice this year for colours. Don’t say 🍎 will bring out another colour in March, which will make us think f**k me, I should have held on 4 months.
Can’t wait to ‘downgrade’ from the bigger 13 pro max to the 14 pro and get used to a normal sized phone again. No more pins and needles in my hands from holding the phone for too long 😅
Yup, it’s just far too big. Not sure how people do it, the normal size is perfect for everyday carry, pocket carry, and those times it’s needed for one handed use
Yes. I ordered the Gold 14 Pro Max, got it 24th Dec, and it had that kind of issues.. My previous XS and 12 Pro Max were Gold too, so i returned this one because of the issue and the color as well.. Today i went to the store so now i gotta wait for my Space Black one.

I personally don't see it as radically different than the Graphite, but it's a bit darker (esp the camera module and sides) and I prefer the Space Black for sure. That Space Black is one of the best colors they have ever made, IMHO.
It doesn't even look THAT much different. Only the camera and stainless steels are darker, which look really really good. But graphite looks more premium to me. And it reflects light more, which looks stunning. But hey, everyone has their own options.
If u used gold then go for black... If u don't use both colour soo go for gold.... Frankly gold is notice publicly very quickly expect frm black so upto u
I'm sure it looks better in person with the pill shape, but I just don't like the way it makes the front screen look. I get what they were doing, they aren't quite at the point of having under screen Face ID so they steered into the skid rather than avoiding it. It's just an ugly looking design though.
