Fantastic Fun with the Quiz Suzie!! The Front Door was the only scenario that got me - I thought it was Layering rather than Loved. Thanks so much for including the free Download as well! xoxo from Canada! ❤
Thank you thank you thank you Suzie 😊 you are such a gracious host on your channel! It is such a pleasure to look forward to your next videos. I hope you continue on with more of the fabulous British Colonial &/or Raffle Hotel Style that makes me so happy 😊
Congrats on 100, I love them all! I love looking at all the vignettes in your stores and the awesome use of high contrast in value. Got all the quiz pics right. ❤
WOW!! This was so helpful. I am about to buy my forever home with my girlfriend and I want to make it as welcoming and beautiful as she wants. This will be a helpful formula as we move to our NZ lodge. Just me, her, and our dog. We both have a similar style but honestly I just want to make it feel special. Thanks Suzie!
What a wonderful video! Thank you for sharing your design advice. I learn so much from your videos and love seeing the rooms you use as examples. Thanks again!
Thank you so much for the education on the five L’s I failed miserably, but I will continue to use this method. I enjoyed every moment. Thank you so much for your time and patience you put in
Hi Laura, I’m so happy you enjoyed every moment!! It’s all part of the journey. Over time you will be able to train your eyes to recognise the 5 elements and it can be fun and helpful template to use wherever you are 🤍😊 xx
Hi, I just discovered ur channel and website. I love it! I needed a break from DIY’s as much as I love them too. For me, your site is the motherload of interior designs and guides. I appreciate everything you and ur husband have done. All the best.
Hi! I’m so glad you discovered the channel and website-thank you for your kind words! It’s great to hear that you’re enjoying the content and finding it helpful. xx
The loveliest part is seeing You, Suzie, and the small glimpses into your own home! ❤ You have lovely displays in your Interior Decor Shops! 🙌 Sorry to be late, but I am back home now since last night, busy and trying to catch up on everything! Thank you for sharing. XO
Dear Gina, thank you so much for your kind words! It's wonderful to hear that you enjoyed seeing glimpses of our own spaces. I hope you enjoy catching up on everything. Sending lots of love and warm wishes your way! xx
Hello Barbara, I love to hear that you enjoyed the video and find the 5 L concept a handy tool to use in your styling. Thank you for your support of our channel xx Suzie
So excited to click! I enjoyed that exercise.. I only got the first and last one .. I'm learning.. I probably needed to pause to really figure it out.. so fun and informative as always! 👍🏼
Fabulous video and inspiring decor. I would be concerned though at 5:06 putting a lit candle within gatherered linen. 😮 (I know its just for a camera shot) ♥
Susie, i live in a Stately home, yes where the queen came to visit without anyone ever knowing, to be with a cousin many times, i have a small room to make into a lounge, want to have a real fire burning centre, with maybe mirrors either side on tables, to my dismay there will be a tv in the centrebut will have to work around it, HELP!
Hi Peter! What a fascinating story and a wonderful space to work with! For your small lounge, consider framing the fireplace as the true focal point. You can balance the TV by recessing it or placing it on a more discreet wall if possible. Mirrors on either side of the fire will help reflect light and create a sense of elegance and space, while side tables can add symmetry and functionality. To work with the TV, you could try incorporating a custom cabinetry or art piece that disguises it when not in use. The key is finding balance between the old-world charm and modern elements. It is hard to give proper guidance without seeing the space. I know the struggle of having to consider a TV unit. For me, I simply have our TV to the side of the fireplace on a moveable antique chest, so I can always move it if needed, but I understand you may have more of an integrated setup. Suzie xx
Hi Arthur! We do sell them but they are quite delicate to ship. Feel free to email our team at enquiry@suzieandersonhome.com and let us know where abouts you are based xx
Dear Suzie, Thank you for the beautiful video and for the generous sharing. I downloaded your e-book and reviewed the key points you mentioned in your video. There is so much generic reasoning behind our thinking - why does a certain style simply look better (to me/maybe to many of us)? Okay, let me ask you one (seemingly) irrelevant question: Why do we prefer someone who is taller? The reason is that in ancient times, tall people would likely be caught by branches of the trees and have higher chance to be killed by the chasing animals, compared to their shorter counterparts. If they do survive, it means that they are stronger than average. The gene defines our tastes. Now, let's get back to interior design - why should we favour negative space? In China (I am original Chinese), people (at least in old times when things are slow and easy-going) prefer 80% fulfillment for almost everything, be it colours pattern in a painting or how full you are for a meal. You have to leave space for your imagination, for expectation, for evolution, for those seemingly impossible. If something is 100%, it loses the chance for further evolution. Antient Chinese poets have already described the most ideal state: a half blossomed flower, a beauty coming too late to your date. So much is to be expected and so much is yet to happen. A full moon can only descent, a full glass can only spill. Anything which has reached its peak can do nothing but decay. I totally see your argument of removing unnecessary stuff to de-clutter. Why "soft" material for layering? Because you cannot be masculine (stone, marble, glass, hard surface) all the time. you would have been short of energy. A mountain looks gigantic only if there is a valley. "Yang" (positive/masculine energy) needs supplement from "Yin" (negative/faminine energy) to complete itself. If you see a Chines Kong-Fu master performs martial arts, there is very often a sword tassel attached to the sword. There might be thousands of arguments why a tassel should be there. However, when it becomes a legend, the soft, the feminine piece complements the masculine sword perfectly. People may forget the why we prefer something at the very beginning (just as they forgot why they prefer taller people), but they will be pleased with this something. The original functionality becomes part of our taste, and built in our gene. Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. Our design is ourselves. We create our reality. Though you didn't articulate everything so apparently in your video, I do see the trace of the philosophy in your presentation and your guiding principle of interior design. All in all, interior design is part of our life. Thank you again for the beauty you brought to the community. I myself benefit enormously from your narratives and had the visual pleasure as the video naturally brings to everyone. THANK YOU.
Thank you so much for your thoughtful and insightful message. I’m genuinely touched by your reflections on design and how it intertwines with deeper philosophical concepts. You’ve brought up some fascinating points about preferences and design principles, such as the role of negative space and the balance between “Yang” and “Yin.” It’s amazing how these ancient philosophies can provide such profound guidance for modern interior design. I’m glad the video and e-book have resonated with you and provided valuable insights. It’s always a pleasure to see how these ideas can spark deeper thoughts and connections. Thank you for sharing your perspective and for your kind words. Suzie xx
I am also having trouble inputting the information. My computer wants to automatically fill in my email address and name, but when I try to put in the birthday day and month I just get a "hand" icon and can't type. If I try to fill it all in manually I just get red dots and no letters - plus the hand icon again. I will log out and try again. I do thoroughly enjoy all of your videos! Thanks so much for putting them together. Diane
@@DianeTrembly So Sorry about that! It looks like the text input was in white, so it wasn't showing that it had been filled. I removed the DOB form. Let me know if it works now :) Once you click download the guide, you should receive an email with 5 minutes xx

Beautiful. But at my age, I want LESS stuff. Less dusting, less moving things around, etc. OMG, I never thought I would feel this way. Lol
I understand! I am definitely leaning into less but intentional pieces that tell a story and are quality-made. It makes a difference I feel! xx
Useful advice, thank you. However, I find a lot of the examples just a smidge too cluttered. I would prefer the ornaments to be peared back a little.
I loved the 5 L activity 😮😮❤❤I actually answered all missing elements correctly. Will you include this exercise in all upcoming videis??🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for the wonderful feedback. We will make a note to include more exercises like this one xx
