Hi are there situations where you would change the shim for the spring to make it give less diesel? Or would a leaky injector more often be dirt related?

I've swapped shims to increase or decrease the amount of injection, but the amount of injection hasn't changed much.

@@nos00 So leakage is more related to dirt inside nossle. I have recently purchased injectors for a ducato 2017 where one seems to overfuel / leak - its more likely to be dirt inside nossle. The toothpaste manouver you did seem to be a reasonable thing to try.

I tried changing the control valve to stop a back leak flow and now the injector won’t even spray. There is now a high pressure build up in the injector anytime I try to apply pressure using a simulator and an injector hand tester.
Tried other valves and still had the same issue.
Tried dismantling a working injector and fixed back and still had a similar issue. I guess am not doing something right. 😢

@@nos00 The Top[ of the main injector body and the bottom of the nozzle surface----where the 2 pieces with the 3 holes (bottom of nozzle) and the top of injector body (one fuel hole and 2 holes that have the 2 guide pins that mate). thx steve
