So I did some testing on pigs this morning. Per animal 0-9 months they eat 370L averaging at 41L per day. (At this point they reproduce) 10+ months they eat 60L per day. So to make the pigs the most profitable per liter of food you feed them… sell them at 9 months after they reproduce.
thanks for confirming that feeding them only Base(Corn) and Grain(barley) still works like in FS22. That was the only way to do pigs and make money in basegame FS22. Sadly not many figured it out and pigs got a bad rep as the worst animal of the game.
So, there is a mod for a pig food mixer, but it is very dependent on what economy you are using. With the mod on easy economy, you end up paying either $2170 or $1692 per thousand liters depending on which of two different recipes you chose. On standard economy the cost is $1014 or $1301. Only on hard economy is the production actually worth it with cost per thousand liters either $723 or $564. But it isn't just with the mod. If you are on easy mode and mix 50% corn, 25% barley, 20% canola, and 5% sugar beets the cost per thousand liters is $1499 so you are better off buying the big bags at the store. If you are on standard economy the cost of making your own mix is $899 per thousand liters. The thing is, unless someone comes out with a mod that lets you mix by the shovel full instead of the trailer it is really hard to make a perfect mix so again it looks like the store-bought feed is the way to go. On hard mode you can mix your own for $499.
You dont need to watch put that much about mixing food. i feed them corn and wheat and their health is at 100% and the do reproduce. I put one trailer of wheat and 2 trailers of corn, and top up when they need it. If you put 1 trailer od soy, 1 wheat and 1 of cron, they use mostly corn and the you top up with corn and so on. I hope you get it.
There is a workshop near the store, with the words 'Motorex' written on the gates. Only there you can 'repair' the paint. I only painted the weight to get the achievement, because repainting vehicles is really expensive...
So, anyone who doesn't know, you have to feed pigs to get slurry and manure. They must be eating food or they won't produce it. Unless you are on hard difficulty, you can just feed the pigs pig food, they don't eat as much as they did in FS22, and you will make a large profit if you sell them at peak. You can actually wait until the day before they should be sold to feed them, they eat 61L each, and need 10 hours to hit maximum health. Then you sell them at peak price, rinse and repeat. If you want the slurry, and reproduction, you need to feed them the whole time. However, you can still afford to feed them pig food, because they eat far less than they used to. A full house of peak sell pigs, I made 125k after subtracting the cost of feeing them with pig food only. If you're growing all the crops they need, go for it. But you would still probably be better off just selling the crops and feeding them pig food, because they will make a nice amount of money over the cost of food, even if you're buying it. Cheers.
And some issues continue (PS5).... I have 2 pig pens... One recognizes the slurry pickup, the other not. And still constantly crashing 😔 We need a hot fix for😢these constant crashes!
Definitely has to be in the console code for the PS5 copy I'm not even receiving stutters on a steam deck. I saw some solutions being thrown on the subreddit for the PS5 earlier. I'll edit if I find them again Edit: th-cam.com/video/1viOqCzVqe4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=gVpCo3vN7ELnBnUi
1000$ per 1000L for the pig food is not that bad really. You can sell almost anything except corn and the root crops for more than that. Or am I missing something?
I was making more money with energy solar and other energy sources. I bought more property because my property is littered with energy production. I may set up a new farm somewhere else on the map because I'm buying up most of the town so far. Branching out to other things. I was hoping they had the little piglets animation.
@@Gili42-MartinF Yes, he already has 3 different mod packs for 25. Not sure if links are allowed here, but if you do a search for Stevie mods, there are several videos that include links to his downloads.

Mind blown! Must test this out, thanks!
Even with store bought pig food you could make money in fs22, same with fs25🤔
I was looking for this video yesterday. Thanks for putting these out.

So this is sorta lame but, when I repair my vehicles, how do I fix the paint? I want to take the very best care of my equipment.
I haven’t figured that out either haha

Re paint for now only at store workshop.

How do you get pig food in the back of your truck?!
Park a trailer next to a bag and press r
Well done.
You have to provide them with manure.. I mean straw! 😂😂

Depends on difficulty level. On easy yes, on normal depends, and on hard that price is very expensive for food
@@FarmerCop yeah that makes sense. Hadn't thought of the difficulty levels.

Stevie has a pig food factory mod for PC.
for 25? I couldn't find one. But then I also don't know who Stevie is :)

It would be helpful in the beginning say, nothings changed from 22 save some time
Things have changed actually haha
