    Been using a leaf blower to clean my sidewalks and vehicles for years. It only works though when the snow is light and fluffy - and only a couple inches max. You have to get out there early before any melting occurs. If there's any crust at all forget it.

      Sometimes when there is too much snow for the blower, I will clean it up as I normally would, then use the blower for the finishing touch. Works great as long as it is still cold and dry.

    Done the same things all winter long in Michigan using a cheap Green-works leaf blower. Also helps to have a narrow flatten end to better direct the air. We’ve been lucky to have light fluffy snow. Works before anyone walks or drives on it.

      Yes! the areas I walked on you can see the foot prints and they won't come up with the blower.

    Hey Al,
    Nice Video!
    I've been doing that with my EGO 750 cfm for years - even though we only just get a liitle bit each winter, here in NC.
    That's the way to go - why break out the shovel or an EGO snowblower if you don't have to!
    Of course, only works well with a dusting to 1-2 inches.
    Thanks!

    This thing looks way cooler and more futuristic than even the ghost trap in the movie "Ghostbusters". Maybe it can do that?
    But blowing snow from a flat surface that no one has walked on before and a layer of snow no more than 2 cm is one thing, but if the snow is trampled at least once and its layer is more than 5-7 cm, then this thing will not be able to replace a shovel.

    What I have learned from using the blower on the sidewalk is that if you walk on it before you blow it, the your footprints compress to the sidewalk and the blower does not take it off. Better to get out there right after the snow stops to be able to clear it cleanly before anyone can step on it

    It did a fantastic job. But these blower chew through batteries. It’s the only con about them. But if you have plenty of batteries you’ll be fine. I wonder if it would help blow the snow without the nozzle on?

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  14 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yes and with all ego blowers by the way! That’s what’s great about EGO

  • @Appytail
    @Appytail 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    Confirms what I think. 1000 CFM is kind of the minimum for a driveway. I've been using blowers for decades now. I use a Stihl BR800 these days. 80cc blowers roughly 1000 CFM. I wish for more power. Saw you trying to shovel with the blower. When you scan left to right, it is much more efficient. But. It means the tool is heavy and somewhat uncomfortable. Much like EGO snow shovel which is kind of useless. Maybe for that kind of power, a backpack blower is mandatory ...

    • @TechMadeEzy
      @TechMadeEzy  11 วันที่ผ่านมา

      When I need to use a larger battery I just used the backpack link

    • @Appytail
      @Appytail 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@TechMadeEzy I get that and I would do the same. It's just that a backpack blower like the BR800 or the upcoming EGO 1000 CFM is certainly easier to blow things on the ground scanning left-to-right-to-left. Leaves or snow.

  • @marty232
    @marty232 15 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      This is just a demonstration showing users that they can use it if they have a little bit of snow. I recently used this with almost 4 inches of snow, but yes, it wasn’t wet. It probably will not work with wet snow, but thank you for your comment.
