To the point regarding retiring practices.
    1) Why would Financial planners NOT train staff up to ensure a successful exit?
    2) Surely if more leaving than replenishment, the price they ask to purchase said clients, will decrease drastically? (They are creating a problem which will hurt them)

Acquiring firms already have advisers in place to take on the clients

@@samtheoakes I should really find out who these acquiring firms are.
How can their be a shortage of advisors if these firms are meeting the demand?

Great episode! I am someone you described who is a second careerist currently working at an investment platform but looking to become a Financial Planner and one day a Chartered IFA. It’s strange to me how to big players are not already considering creating more employed positions. Nonetheless, thanks for the insight and I won’t give up!

Get your qualifications and it opens lots of doors. It’s neither easy nor hard, the industry is competitive but very rewarding. It’s an industry where your level of work will control your destiny. It’s not 9 to 5 but that’s what makes it’s so interesting. I have been in the industry over 15 years also for a bit of background. Good luck

You both are so brilliant and passionate about the industry-kudos to you!
However, my question is: if it's that difficult to get in, is it still a career worth considering? This conversation has given me a lot of insight, but it has also left me feeling a bit terrified.
