    Nezo is my HERO!!! He needs a documentary made about his skills, ideas, craftsmanship, and work ethic!!!! I know you have a new captain.... ;-D But it would thrill me no end if Nezo became First Mate!!!! So much knowledge and skill packed into one head!!!!

    I'm always impressed how the master shipwright Zeka goes into every task without hesitation . watching him work and the quality of fit & finish makes one realize it takes a lifetime to develop that kind of skill . Great video well done again !

    Amazing! In a 100 or more yrs from now, someone will marvel at the workmanship of this old man in awe! Not only that they'll be able to watch him do the work via these vlogs...what a treasure

    ... once again, I'm blown away by your team of craftsmen but especially Nico (I believe that's his name ... reminds me of my great grand father so much) ... he is an artesian in wood ... I look forward to each episode with the excitement of a kid ... my wife needs to remind me that I'm 75 and to calm down ... thank you for allowing me, and the rest of us, to follow along on the journey of Yaba ...

    I like the idea of a larger master cabin instead of two smaller ones. A walk-around queen bed makes living aboard a thousand times more comfortable.

    I never thought this channel would be this good as it has been and it is because the craftsman that are so skilled and have the resources to go to town on that boat and more or less replace everything. It makes it even better that you are a very nice couple and that dog is precious.

    Hi Ben and MP,
    I did watch the midweek episode. My guess is this will be another decision you won't regret. Adopting Caillou seems to me to not only be the best choice for you (I'm a dog lover so am biased), but also for Caillou. He looks well satisfied now and I believe he will continue living his best life with you.
    Very happy for all of you.
    I really love how the team really work as a team, with Ben now being a full member from what I can tell.
    Even if the terminology sometimes eludes him, I'm so impressed with the work he does on your rebuild.
    Cheers from Vancouver, Canada,
    Dawson

    Please consider a secondary emergency egress if you don’t already have or plan one. This is best to have it opposite of the original stairway. Probably in the master cabin. A fully removable/openable side window or a deck hatch/skylight should suffice. It should have easy to use footings/rungs as well as placards noting the emergency exit in case you have guests. There was a dive boat in Southern California some years ago that had all guests perished because the main exit was engulfed in flames and there was no secondary exit.

    It will be of particular interest to me how your builders will load the ballast and liquid storage tanks below deck. Then I'm wondering about all of your plumbing and electrical systems. I would guess everything still on board right now will need to be gutted and replaced? This will happen once Yabá is afloat?

  • @squalloogal
    @squalloogal 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I think you should get a metal plate engraved with the names of all the builders and the time the boat is completed. Put the boat name and original build date as well if you know it. I think it would be a nice thing for you, the builders to honour the work done.
    All best, Squally

    I am a bit mystified by the reasoning for building the interior bulkheads before installing the flooring. It seems like it would have been easier to install solid flooring throughout the below decks then build the bulkhead framing on top and lay the bulkhead plywood down on top of the flooring (much like drywall in a house).
    I worked at one time for Erikson Yachts in California but we did not build wooden boats. I have been a contractor for 35 years building homes which I am sure influences my methodology.
    Love your content, catch every episode. ❤

    • @jamessandman3708
      @jamessandman3708 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most of the time you want access hatches so my guess is to be able to pull up the flooring quickly if you have a leak or to access storage? It's just a guess but this way when they reply I will get a notice. 😂👍

    Hi guys. Love your work but I need to mention one concern about the stern deck. A lot of effort to ensure that water does not get into the enclosed area/seating however the small scuppers remain open, an access for water into the closed seating lockers which will encourage dry rot and damp locker contents. Just a thought. Frank.
