The Van- Chi example was perfect, weird game, Chicago did what Chicago does, started too late, had the weirdest offsides/not offsides call I have ever seen, got down by three, but didn't give up and tried to claw back, but in the end, Van is Van. And Chi is Chi. So no surprises there.
Tons of people that complain about where their team is ranked don’t even watch other games. I’d say most fans only watch their team and maybe one other game. So saying “my team should be ranked higher” when you haven’t watched those other teams play is such a dumb way to do it. This is why I love coming to this channel. I don’t watch all the game. I can’t. So seeing the power rankings and the game reviews are fun when you don’t have time to watch all/most of the games
Have you considered taking a Pic of the power ranking at the end of each night? You could post it as a short and let people scream into the dark. Might help with channel clicks and comments. Love your work!
I think it is bad for the algorithm if people jump to the end and only watch a few seconds. Plus that would put rankings complaints in every night's vids.

Your power rankings are my favorite videos that you do. And your first couple power rankings I know depend on last year, but after the season has started I think you need to throw expectations for the current season out. Surprises happen almost every year, though now with only half the leauge making the post season good teams can miss, but the teams that are in are usually all expected to be good.
I really enjoyed the predictive game results and how that might affect power rankings. I personally don't follow hockey daily, so power rankings are an easy way to get some idea how teams are doing. It is a useful resource. Thanks!
Great Video, as usual, Shannon - I like the way you do all of the Power Rankings. We're rarely in disagreement & when we're in disagreement, you usually give A Great Explanation (it's usually, you could easily swap 2 teams).

What I love the most about these power rankings is that all 32 teams are on the list, whereas most other Power Rankings on this platform only do the Top 16 if not just the Top 10
I like the way the hockey guy does it. Based on who is playing well and that a win and a loss does not automatically mean moving up or down. It's all suggestive so why people getting so mad?

I mean controversy probably helps the channel, but I like the power rankings informed or not, sometimes just to see where my team is ranked, don’t understand why people would take offence or why the offended parties commenting would bother you, keep up the good work
I never have been upset by the Power Rankings. The closest was once when my team was in 2nd, because he discussed 3rd extensively, then said , "X is in 2nd, so Y is of course 1st." Then went on to discuss #1. So it was kind of, "Hey, what about us?" Usually I'm just a bit surprised one way or the other.
I think your power rankings are the best. I always thought if I did power, rankings myself, I would be considering many of the exact same things that you do that goes, into the decision of where teams rank. It’s the most fairest it is very complex, but I just think it’s the most fair and every week. I’m like yep I agree with that. I agree with that. I hardly ever find myself going. No way that team doesn’t belong there. Sometimes I think people just look at the teams records overall for the week and just rank them that way, which I don’t know it doesn’t really tell really the whole story IMO.
THG what makes the rankings so fun is the subjective view and everyone's different point of view. Keep doing what you are doing because you do give your reasons for the rankings if people don't listen to what you say then it is their probllem not yours.
I do really like your power rankings, and largely agree with your reasoning. I do, however, find it a little contradictory when you say that a) it's a measure of how they're playing *right now* but also b) you want the bad teams to prove it's sustainable over a longer period before adjusting them up even if they are playing really well *right now*

Maybe if you handed out a precipitation trophy to every team as your running through your rankings, maybe those that dont understand the process wont be so upset.
I believe that your ranking the other day for the Stars was 3rd place, after the Buffalo game. The pundits also placed the Stars in 3rd and personally, I thought that was about right. I would not put them in 1st or 2nd at this time. Their power play has been non-existent and their goal scoring has been pedestrian. If this continues through the season (I don't think that there is any way that is going to happen) then 3rd is probably high. When their offense fires up, they are going to stay in the top 3-4 all season long. Bottom line, your rankings make good sense to me.

As a sharks fan I have not had any issue with where the sharks are in your rankings.
The most believable hockey moment by THG was forgetting Columbus last year. It led to a great video on the mediocre history their poor fans endure.
