I Spent $45,000 At 29% For A Salvaged Title GR Supra - Crumpled Up Supra Build Part 3

- I had to completely remove the old front frame to weld the new frame on to make my 2021 Toyota GR Supra straight again! I lost count of how many spot welds I ground to get it off. I also opened over $30,000 worth of parts! It took me 6 hours to open all the boxes alone! Follow along as I ruin my life financially for everyone's entertainment as I fix this Supra's, frame, airbags, wiring, interior, engine, and more!

This is why Shawnzey is the goat
I'm trying but idk about the goat lol.
I appreciate you though!
the goatest of time goats
That’s definitely a lot more work than I was expecting. I have 100% faith in you though 👍😎
Oh man me too. I thought I was going to have the new frame on by now lol
A bit ridiculous now that I know how hard it was
I've been following your channel since you started on the BMW. Hopefully the TH-cam algo is kind to you and your channel takes off quickly so you can start doing this full-time. I think you content is great and I look forward to each video. I am not a car enthusiast but I love seeing guys pull things apart and fix them up and put them back together again.
It's oddly satisfying watching people build stuff isnt it!? It's the same with me. I can watch people machine parts on a lathe or repair old rusty stuff even though I have no interest in doing it myself! Thanks for watching I'm glad you're here! :)
Man this is a really nice project you have here. So much respect for your time and effort involved on this. I followed you on restoring the F10 and it was really nice work, so I believe in you with this nice Supra, make it live again !
It's going to feel so good when I start bolting stuff onto this car I can't wait! Thanks for joining me on my journeys!
Good work man, you can do it!
As soon as that frame is welded on we're gonna start flying! I hope anyway XD
@@ShawnzeyRacing I agree, as long as you have all what you need, it become lego and it’s so satisfying!
one man army💪...artur tussik had some joy🙂 to work on this same frame too.
BMW Z4 (G29). The front end repair
I see he was able to pull the frame straight! Wish I could've done the same! But the new frame should be on in no time!
Awesome video!
Thanks!
I'm from Bulgaria and I'm I know what you feel man !!! Because I'm doing the same but different projects and I know how expensive and time consuming its taking. So my advice is just stay calm and push forward everything at the end will be perfect!! Keep up the good work!!
We're making progress! The frame definitely made me think about the choices I've made but after getting the frame off it felt great! Huge progress and can't wait to work on the car as much as I can :)
Best of luck with the build!
Thanks so much!
Absolutely crushing it. Love the content! Those belts looked so annoying 🤣🤣
The belts had me second guessing my life choices
Good for you my friend
the credit card debt or the progress on the car? :)
Always a good day when Shawnzey uploads🙏🏻🙏🏻
Thanks for being here! You guys are the best!
This is by far the best episode on this channel! Watching you genuinely suffer and in pain was hilarious (I'm so sorry). And the belts LMAO!!
Never change please, love your content!
This is the first video that I was genuinely suffering lol. So many of those belts would break instantly and I was losing my mind
When’s the next upload?? Literally the best rebuild videos on TH-cam personally I think! Just watched the super build and now fully invested haha
Thanks I appreciate it! I'm editing the next video as we speak should be up soon!
Love you too sorry that it's gonna be so much hard work
That's alright it's fun! It can be frustrating at times but just have to work through those hard times to get to the good stuff!
Awesome video! I'm loving this build!!
Thank you! Glad your here :)
Dude, ur videos are the best. Cheers from São Paulo, 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Thanks I appreciate it! Always cool to have people watch from around the world I'm glad your here
Lova the builds and vids dude. Why don't you take out a loan tho? Set up an LLC for the channel and within 6 months to a year youll be able to get loans. You'll have to pay less interest. Best of luck!
It's a good idea and something to look into. Currently TH-cam channel doesn't make any money so I think I'd have to borrow against my personal income. not sure how loans on an LLC work though
Been waiting on this one! Wish you best of luck on the project mate!
Thanks man!
So far it's tough and very time consuming but I'm enjoying it!
@@ShawnzeyRacing keep your head up dude! Final result is gonna be amazing!
Also, nice a$$ BMW :D
Thanks! The BMW was such a good deal and it gave me a reason to start my TH-cam channel so the BMW will always have a special place in my heart
@@ShawnzeyRacing I binged it haha
But it was thought on Supra haha
Ah shoot the BMW joke went over my head 😂
Support
Thank you! I can feel your support from here!
If you guyes would be a trained body shop workers you would see this guy as anything else but great. This is why in other countries only certified workers are allowed to do such a job.
Let me know what you would do differently! :)
yay
w00t!
lets go buddy
We goin!
This Supra waited 3 years to get worked on, whats a year here nad there to " finish" it ? :) Good progress, hope she comes out somewhat straight in the end.
Iam also angry when insurances total a car for a small fender bender, but in this case I can totally understand that no insurance wanted to repair this Supra, a new one was just cheaper...
Oh for sure! This is one of those cases that it was not cheaper to fix XD. But we're having fun at least :D
massive amount of work, good job
but man use gloves when working with metal like that, your hands will thank you
I do abuse my body a bit... I did start hearing hearing protection recently and that's been a pretty nice change lol.
Thanks for watching!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Hawt AF 😎
Great progress was looking at supras to buy one but ended up with a 230i. Question, would it not of been best to pull the bent frame rails straight before removing them , just in case other parts of the structure needed to come over a bit, or had you measured the rest of the car and it was in spec? cheers
I did not measure before removing but not a terrible idea. I will be straightening out those side pieces that come off the firewall and then placing the new frame in place and then measuring to make its all straight before welding and panel bond!
💪😎👍
ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
Good work but good luck on the debt gonna need more viewers ngl
Need a solid 5 million views and we should be good to go 😎
Hi some of those spot welds in the fire wall look like structural rivets, if the shock towers are alloy then it makes sense, is that right to you looking close at the car?
I'll double check but pretty sure all the pieces that I had to remove and reweld on are steel and spot welded.
The strut tower is cast aluminum and rivited and screwed to the rest of the pieces
Can you recoup any of your money/bring down your cost by recycling those damaged parts for scrap?
I definitely could have sold the parts for scrap price! Something that I did think about but I wasn't to sure it is was worth it. I probably should have seen how much scrap price was and weigh the parts at home but I did not. But a very good point
Should of got a used Supra for 45k
That's exactly what I just looked up, in his previous video's his reasoning was this one is low mileage
@@tootmcfarten-1556 even low mileage they’re cheap bro. My buddy sold his 14k mile for 45k
I didn't buy this car to make a profit or to get it cheap I bought it to challenge myself and to make some TH-cam videos! I bought it for the journey and for the fun! It is absolutely much cheaper and easier to not buy a car with this much damage lol
@@ShawnzeyRacing clout chasing on another level but do you bro good luck. 👍🏼
@@ShawnzeyRacing here for you. Here for the content. Keep your hands nimble and mind boundless
good
Thanks 😎
Almost seams like there would be a better tool for the job than a flimsy belt grinder. God…experts at work on a substantial repair on a car thats later going 170mph….
Gotta learn somehow! What would you recommend? Usually people that are so experienced would provide there useful opinion rather then just say someone else is doing it wrong.
Considering the cost of the parts and the car, are you sure it's worth it to rebuild the car?
If by worth it you mean profitably then absolutely not! :)
But it's a fun project! I wanted to take on something huge that I've never done before and so far it's turning out that way lol
@@ShawnzeyRacing I hope you succeed and continue with other cars (perhaps a little less wrecked than this one). You don't act like a 2k-sub channel. Some of the bigger boys in the scene could learn a thing or two from your videos.
Best of luck and I can't wait for the next supra episode.
Thanks! I'm hoping to continue with TH-cam too I really enjoy it! Currently figuring out how to afford the next build as we speak lol...
you bought a bmw supra?
BMW GR Supra* 😎
@@ShawnzeyRacing 😎
Dog that's alot of parts is the car worth it I don't see it😮😢😮
Definitely not going it to make a profit! I bought the cheapest most damage car I could find at auction. I wanted to take on a huge project! :)
Ok I wish you good luck😊
I appreciate it!
❤❤🚘♥️♥️
Now it can start coming together!

I'll check it out!
