At breakfast, Shabani came up to the female Nene and his son Kiyomasa and kept Nene away from Kiyomasa.
Was he wary of something?
Later, as lunch time approached, Kiyomasa, who was getting hungry, started messing with Nene.
Shabani did not stop him, but he did keep an eye on Kiyomasa.
When Shabani came closer, Kiyomasa stopped messing with Nene.

Finally last Saturday and Sunday I saw Shabani and his troop and I came from the USA in order to see him. Shabani is even more handsome , magnificent and beautiful even possible in person. His fur is so full , his head is massive , he looks very sweet and he really pays attention all the time to Annie looking around for her if she isn’t close to him. One thing that surprised me it was how short stature Nene looked. Almost like a kid but she is very active, eats a lot and if the others take her food she just move to other spots since the food is very abundant. Kiyo is very big and looks handsome although both days that I was there he kept running away from his father as soon Shabani moved close to him. Another surprise it was so well proportioned Annie was and very beautiful with her punk hair and “ model “ body and she eats a lot although she’s thin. Nene kept moving away from her and Shabani would look at their interactions in order to stop any problems so really if you have an opportunity really really go visit Shabani as he is the real deal not exaggerated myth at all but kind of the opposite as his body, face , legs everything are more beautiful and proportionate than from we see in pictures or videos. Finally by the way I saw a gentleman filming him and he gave me a little picture of Shabani but I forgot to asking him if he was the videographer, mea culpa .. I got also a beautiful Shabani”s t shirt. And I confess that I left my heart with Shabani!
awww , this gives me hope . I say I know ill never get to see these beautiful babies in person because of where they’re located since ive barely ever left the state I live in 🥲😅 but maybe one day i can make it happen 🙏🏼 so happy you got the chance to visit them in person ♥️🦍 I to have fell in love with this troop through videos and keep up with them daily since I’ve found them . I agree, a big enclosure with lots of trees and grass. Riki and Kintaro can join the bachelor group when they are older. This would bring lots more visitors to whichever zoo has the opportunity to do this. 🙋♀️🦍🇬🇧

its nice to see Ai spending more time closer to Shabani. i know that people dont think that she shows enough interest in him but i just think that they are on slightly different "schedules" if that makes any sense
and lol at Kiyo for being such a menace to his mom sometimes, taking her food, playing "tag"😬 also, annie wanting to get in on picking on nene, throwing the tree branch at her lolol😅

Wow Kiyo is being a really naughty boy, not sure in this instance Shabani didn’t put a stop to it. He’s been following around Kiyo an moves him away from females but in this he allowed not sure why

Poor Nene girl.Get Kiyo out of there you zoos have had years to do this.He will hurt his mother and the zoo will do nothing about it.
That’s simply not true. Kiyo is a very big immature adolescent who has been coddled by the whole troop. The young gorillas try to assert themselves an have a tendency to take advantage of the older gorillas it happens to Toto an Momoko now in Ueno zoo. The Zoo Keepers know their gorillas a what they need a when to move. This is normal gorilla behavior

I saw that guerilla walk like a human! There's no other animals that I know of that walk like us but the Jesus lizard and the penguin.

thats kids being kids . shes the slowest of them all and lowkey the spiciest but mostly they know she cant catch them and she guves the reaction that they’re looking for and it isn’t very much fun to be chased and caught each time so they go for her most . i see it tho as getting her to move that body because shes so old she doesn’t move as much as the other’s willingly but in a bittersweet way she kind of have to because Kiyo & Annie always giving her reason to . since her appetite is so good still a bit of exercise wont hurt her its keeping her young 😅

Because when the tough gets rough Nene always defends Kiyo against Shabani.
Whenever Shabani intervenes Nene and Ai then go after him and support Kiyo so looks like he doesn't bother anymore half the time unless it's really serious.
They really need a better enclosure! The one that they are in looks very old and boring. Looks nothing like their real habitat would. It's sad. Especially with how loved Shabani is!!!

Wow at the @5:01 mark we see Kiyo doing to his mother exactly what Shabani used to do to her when he was a frightened baby. Go back and watch some of the videos from the old enclosure, Shabani used to terrorize both Nene and Kiyomosa by grabbing a tuft of her fur and pulling on it, or when he would smack her really hard and the chases would ensue. Apparently incest among caged Gorilla clans is acceptable behavior, kind of like doing her boy a favor
Shabani didn’t beat Kiyo since he was a baby and silverbacks don’t beat babies . Nene always fought Shabani and beat Annie Shabani ‘s youngest daughter!’
Shabani would stick up for baby Annie when Nene would be mean to her . He is very protective over Annie still.
I'm not discounting what you are posting but I'm confident that I've seen at least 98% of videos from the prior enclosure and I haven't once seen Shabani get anywhere near violent with Kiyo as a baby. He's always been more of an affectionate father rather than a harsh disciplinarian. (To me at least.) Now with Nene, yeah, he got pretty rough and most definitely violent a few times. However, it was for good reason. Shabani harshly attacked Nene whenever it came to protecting Annie. As much as I love Nene, she was brutal, violent and lethal towards Annie as a baby. I can hardly watch those moments because Nene was incredibly vicious. But that's the only 'violence' I've seen him express.
@@pigtailsandteddybears That's correct Cassie even though Shabani never did anything to hurt Kiyo when he was a toddler but he DID get frightened whenever his dad would attack his mom and if pops saw he was scaring anyone he would back off.
