    I wonder if computers have ruined the purity of chess, “automated it”, or if they sharpen innate human creativity

    • @HkFinn83
      @HkFinn83 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Engines are just a tool. They don’t help creativity but they show you what doesn’t work. A person can’t really play like an engine anyway

      Bobby fischer said computers ruined chess

    • @obscurelines

      no. this is the golden age. computers are a tool.

      Computers play the most pure chess there is, in that they play the most accurate chess. Human chess is messy and imprecise, nothing pure about it. It’s beautiful though.

      @@BoostedLeonitus They're talking about playing 10+ different people at same time while blindfolded.
      I think Hikaru probably can play multiple people at same time while blindfolded too.

    Fisher to me is the best. Playing multiple chess at once at a young age. His so good that also ruined him. Even after winning, his still mad thinking the stupid moves he made.

      of course Fischer to you can be the best, in my opinion Fischer was the greatest talent chess has ever had next to Magnus! unfortunately Fischer didnt have the longevity at the top to even come close to the greatest tbh! garry and magnus are for sure higher just through body of work alone. my fave player by far is Mikhail Tal, not even close ahah i do love bobby tho hes defo in my top 5

      Morphy Tal Alekhine Kasparov had More beautiful games than Fischer and Carlsen! Fischer beat the weakest chess World champion Boris Spassky only 17 wins 10 losses! Capablanca would beat Spassky easily 8 wins 6 draws zero losses! Karpov has won over 160 super grand Master tournaments! Fischer won zero only inter zonals 1962 1970! Fischer was Second in Santa Monica 1966 behind blunder maker Spassky! Fischer did not won Havanna 1965! The highest tournament elo rating score is Fabiano Caruana 8,5/10 StLouis elo 3080! Karpov 11/13 Linares 1994 elo score 3040! Alekhine in San Remo 1930 elo score 3040! Fischer and Kasparov their Best tournament scores only 2990!!

      @@RaineriHakkarainen I agree but you should admit the circumstances. Fisher was the best in America, but not in the world in European eyes those times. Because all the world class chess players were in Europe. It's like football. The US are the best in the Americas, by the time they compete in the World Cup. They look like college varsity players. The reason they have to go play against European teams to learn and have experience. The more you play against the best, the more you gain knowledge and experience even when losing. Magnus skill was learning through books and browsing the internet of past games of World class chess players. You think Magnus will be Magnus of today without the technology?
