    I actually left school on 9th grade due to some personal circumstances and the fact that, at that moment in my life and in my country, it wasn't something I'll be needing. I'm 24 now and preparing to take the test sometime in the next months. Your channel has been a great help, told me where to start and I'll keep looking for your videos along the process. I'm a little nervous about all that I'll need to learn, especially since I hate math, but I used to be a great student and I do love learning, so I'll take this road with confidence and excitement. Thank you and great video

    More than ever I want to get my GED. Been out of school for 6 years or so. I know it’s going to be tough and I have adhd so I have to work extra hard for it but I know I can do it. I would get asked what I wanted to do when I grow up and I was always not sure, and then I dropped out of high school still winging through life but now more than ever I know what career I want to pursue. I want to be a first responder and I for once I don’t feel doubtful about it. It’s what I truly want to do. Plus I have a few family members who are EMT and Police so I feel very inspired that I’m willing to do whatever it takes to get there. I’m taking this mental opportunity to grind for it and I will finally feel like I have a purpose, and that is to help others and do the right thing. I have never felt so sure in my life. This is it.

    Hi my name is Ivan, Im thinking of getting my GED. I am getting my ged to get a better job since most jobs require a high school diploma or a GED. I have purchased the Kaplan GED prep book. I started reading through the mathematics section of the ged prep book. There was a part in there that was talking about having a Texas instrument calculator to do your math with. Do I really need to get one?

    • @michellerevisited
      @michellerevisited  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Congratulations on your first steps! You don't NEED the calculator, but it is very helpful to have. The TI-30XS Multiview is the only calculator you are allowed to use on the test. There is an onscreen version to use as part of the test and you can bring your own if you have one. It's helpful to practice with because it has some special buttons to help with fractions, and like anything it is best to get some practice in ahead of time. You can use this demo to look at the calculator ahead of time if you like, but again I recommend to get one so you can get comfortable. ged.com/practice-test/en/calculator/

    One of the things I can't stand about online high school businesses do is try to push on young students to get a diploma over a GED. The reality is that there's only a 2% difference in employees Looking at GEDs as not acceptable. If I could do my high school life all over again I would've received my High GED during my 11th grade year of high school avoiding the star test which is a critical exam that prevented kids from graduating here in texas if you failed it.

      Take the GED Ready practice tests! They are closer predictors. Your GED prep instructor can probably talk to you more about your TABE scores, but remember there is a science and a social studies GED you also need to think about that doesn’t align as closely to the TABE.

      Check my channel for a playlist that lays out what you will need to know on the math test. Then, yes, Khan Academy is a great place to practice those skills.

      Each subject costs $6, but you may be able to find a community resource that offers GED prep and provides waivers to students in their programs. Good luck!

    Is GED in india also?

    • @michellerevisited
      @michellerevisited  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, there are several GED testing centers in India. Make an account on GED.com and click Schedule Test to see where you can test near you. Always check with employers or universities you'd like to attend to see if they will accept your GED credential first :)
