    Burn-in is very real. I got a pair of NightHawks years ago. Me and my brother listened to it out of the box: sounded very muddy and congested. We hated it. Did the 150 hours of burn-in suggested on the box. They are now one of my favorite pair: they sound like a small smoky jazz clubhouse, but inside that place, the treble and mids are silky smooth, musical and fun as hell. So the proof burn-in is real? My brother came back to my place a year or so after, listened to the NightHawk and heard the night and day difference. He couldnt believe how much they werent the same pair of headphones. Anyway great review man! It's spot-on, I got the same feels from the Eris, love'em!

    Great review. Eris has all I expected and so much more. Not only for electronic bass heavy music, but also for orchestra with string instruments. The soundstage is so wide and still its like you can feel the instruments warmth. When listening to “Hessel, Raymond K.”, from The Dust Brothers the bass went insane. Vibrating ears like sitting beside a subwoofer and still a clear soundstage. Watching movies alao is just fun with them. So much fun they are replacing my speakers.

      @MasterMarslander  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @joontech7715 to be forefront, I find the Signature Pulse a little strange, I don't particularly like the system that they use. But to try and answer, Eris is quite a bit more resolving than the Pulse across the board and handles lowend in a way that is more inpactful and powerful than the pulse, while also being more transparent and detailed.

    I'm about the bass. A headphone with bass "insanity" built in? I need these. What is great about headphones is the ability to change the listening experience on the fly. Myself my baseline go to (was/is) my Sennheiser 600s2 for their ability to make much of the crap (TH-cam, whatever) I listen to sound good. I love my Hifiman planars. Turns out I crank the bass way up on my HE1000se because they can take it while still producing detail. I introduced Sundara closed back into the mix because. . . why not. Seen the price lately? Those things have more slam that the regular Sundara. SO I admit. I'm a bass head. Something designed for bass and can still produce detail in other areas sounds a bit like what you get if planars and dynamic drivers from a 600 series popped out a baby. I NEED THESE. Let's chill with the bear.

      If "fun" to you is thunderous bass, then Eris would be the winner here. X2HR is a lot more natural sounding in comparison. You described burn in well, it does happen, it’s usually not measurable, but the reason it happens is like pistons firing in a car engine. You know they say the first 10K miles is ‘running in’ the engine? Well drivers are moving pistons, and the material bonding around the edges of the drive unit loosens off with movement and use, and as a result the amplifier is able to move it with less friction and therefore performs more optimally. Just like wearing in a pair of shoes, or even something like stretching your body. People deny it happens, even with all these other scientific examples from other areas of life, explaining constant movement helps loosen things off. I have personally experienced burn in on many products over the years - and it doesn’t happen on everything - but when it does, it’s strikingly noticeable. So in short, I was glad to see you have the same experience when burning in some pairs of headphones, and the conversation around this needs to be normalised more, because the cat is out of the bag now on the argument about whether or not it makes a difference. Highly enjoyable review.

Maybe the bass is so strong that when you first put them on it's all you hear until you get used to it, then you start hearing more of the frequency response.

      While I do agree the Brain Burn-in is happening with these. There is mechanical change in both the pads and driver from new. A few folks that had more then one even did A-B testing with Virgin and Used sets to confirm. Although Measuring doesn't show a large enough change to note.
