I guess he's not underrated. If he's underrated, he wouldn't be Danger Danger guitarist. He's on his way to fame and victory! Sit there with Michael Angelo Batio (Nitro), Yngwie Malmsteen, and the like is Rob Marcello :).
Its so necessary to add another neoclassical 80s metal sounding guitarist today .Its like why? Ive heard this kind of playing since yngwie's rising force released in 84 i think?..I listened to all of them,''But the one that stands out to me is Jason Becker. There are others but no one plays the peaceful atmosphere style like buckethead..Buckethead is necessary guitar force today. His image hurts him until you understand him..The album colma blew me away..I can't get that kind playing from yngwie
Rob has a bigger dose of shred in him than Andy Timmons. Love them both in DANGER DANGER. I prefer Andy's tone more so than Robs but I love Robs super clean sweeps.
Jacob El-Em then you cant't have heard a lot of Timmons from the 80s and 90s when he still was shredding? These days he barely plays fast, but in my opinion he is on about the same level technically as marcello (when he wants ) i love them both :) i really love Timmons solo in Danger Dangers Crazy Nites :)
do you know what would be best idea..it's for Rob and Vinnie to form a band...since they're both awesome players but underrated...This will give new dynamic to world of music!!!\m/
@DannyDaWiz Yes but the point is that playing the same scale ain't the same thing as trying to play like. If so, Then a fucking big load of people try to sound the same.
Sorry this guy is YES Clean YES fast, but BORING! It is the same old Arpeggio Player Cliché you heard a hundred times on Shrapnel Records. AND, if you really know your shredders from the 80's Rob is basically using quite a few of their licks to this day. I'm not saying he sucks, I am saying it has all been done hundreds of times before. I would take Brett Grased and Guhtrie Govan over any of these 80's type shredders ANY DAY!
my guitar hero rob marcello
Salute to you Mr.Marcello!!!
he's stupid good, like one of the best I've seen, technically.
I didn't know this guy, he's awesome, great tone...and caparison :)
When she's good she's good...!!!
Awesome!
0:41 Daydream guitar solo.
i like Robs playing and neoclassical style in general, but NO FUCKING ONE will ever replace Andy in this band.
@ 0:40 malmsteen possesses him...
A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!-!-!-!-!-!-!
nice !!

Right up there with Aldrich, Beach, EVH, Collen & Leoni (to name but five!)....Sambora too
My face has been melted. Not sure if its the awesome licks or the hairspray.
this guy almost makes up for not having andy timmons! this is godly!

@HillaryHitler sounds like vinman, its one of many signature lick for sure!
he said please don't break it.....imagine if he say..please break it.
The best way to approach robs shred style is to combine pentatonics harmonic minor and natural minor :).
Well that's what he does here.

Comparing Andy Timmons to Rob Marcello. Lol.
I mean, I like them both. 'Cry For You' is amazing guitar work. But Rob is on a whole other level man.

@Adrian92Smith i completly agree timmons is my favorite guitarist

@dYinGinFeRnO I'll actually agree with you. EVH has been playing the same tapping lick for 30 years.
Check Daydream from Vinnie Moore at exactly 02:04 from the original song

Daydream... Awesome song from Vinnie
@liamzuid That wasnt meant to be offending. Rob is a great player regardless.

Would love you to say that to his face. He would just fucking laugh at you.
@DannyDaWiz Yes but the point is that playing the same scale ain't the same thing as trying to play like.

@Adrian92Smith +1
@DannyDaWiz He's f*@#cking not.
And if you could link this music directly to classical music, then I'll apologise.
0:41 vinnie moore
I bet he didnt use the boss me-2 for this haha
too bad, rob marcello breaks it! he is wrothy of shredding the caparison too!
Thats true yngwie worship, except better.
WICKED
Meglio le scale infernali di Richard
Someones trying to be like yngwie.
at :40-:45 it sounds dead on like Vinnie Moore's LifeForce

Totally agree, there are better notes and scales to use.

chord progression of the backing track rob is playing for the first 1:10 seconds, please
When she's good...
