From the emotional ost's you hear from Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso to the exhilarating and godlike ost's you hear from Shingeki no Kyojin, it can completely alter a viewer's mood. Statikk Sheev there are few to none animes that take emotions as a part of our soul. Violet Evergarden is a pure, non cliche show like the others out there. It shows the real beauty of the 1900s, where we thought it was black and white, but it was really the majestic century of the world. Gigguk didnt dive in so much to Violet Evergarden because he is already influenced to non-emotion anime like shounen and other violent anime crap out there. AND MAAAN.. as a human being, we really need love, but in this 21st century, the social standards are ridiculously high like they’re treating us like robots. Love is misinterpreted by so many. Some by body, wealth, accomplishments, face and many more. And love is never about doubts, regrets, expectations, and greatness. It’s removing all of burden from your heart, and have full trust on the one you’re loving. But our love nowadays are influenced by our environment. I know you think I’m talking nonsense here, but that’s the point of influenced interpretation. From the past centuries, Love is so good. But now, look at us now, lookin like robots dressed in a human mannequin.
I usually skip them too, mostly due to watching anime at awkward times when I am supposed to be getting dressed for work or going to bed for tomorrow's workday.
I watched it 3 years ago, I don't remember the plot at all and I remember that it was quite shitty but when the Guilty Crown OST started playing in the video it was such a soothing experience. It's about time that music in anime is being talked about in a grander scale in the anime community. It's super-important to the timbre of the atmosphere of the show you're watching, and if there's no music, it mostly gives you less stimulation to keep watching the show.
Dude, I loved Hiroyuki Sawano long before I even knew who he was. Attack on Titan is the first anime I watched and it's music is at least 40% of why I loved it so fucking much.
Hamzah Shafiq Yeah, AOT is a show that *definitely* gets it's soundtrack *spot frigging on.* Those soaring choruses just instantly bring to mind swooping around like a badass on 3DMG XD Even if you've never seen the show or the opening credits, you listen to those songs, and you're gonna be like 'oh shit, someone's about to throw *down* O_O'
And when to use silence as well. Like Gigguk mentions in the naruto part stopping the "I win" music is really powerful. In a film called "no country for old men" 2007, there is no music at all. And it's absolutely perfect for making the whole thing really tense. There's no stupid loud piano or guitar to give away a big threat coming on to the main character. How to use silence is just as important.

Tokyo Ghoul is probably the anime that I’ve seen that has annoyed the living shit out of me the most, for so many different reasons, because I liked it, I wanted to see things happen because elements of it are interesting, AND THEN IT JUST SHITS ON ITSELF... Gurren Laganns Libera me from Hell was a god damn masterpiece. Doing rap over piano and drums and then having the opera with the bass of the drums coming through the background was epic. When they fuse the two at the end it really gives the tingles.
Omg right! If you check out the no game no life opening it has a similar thing with the piano and fast paced drums being the siblings in anime. It kinda matches to how they are in the anime with Sora doing most of most of the heavy lifting (drums) and Shiro doing the complicated stuff (piano). At least, that's how I like to think about it.
Let's also take a moment to appreciate the music *A Silent Voice's.* So minimalist, yet the amount of feeling it conveys. It empowers the the tone and the emotion of the movie. Absolutely beautiful.

Zankyou no terror is one of my favorite anime for so many reasons. The soundtrack is so amazing. It gives me chills. Is has my favorite lyrics... I'm gonna stop there. I could honestly write a trilogy on why I like zankyou no terror so much.
Not to mention that the ost suits the anime so well. You'd never expect something like that in an anime about terrorism, but when you discover the true meaning behind the music that one of the main characters listens to, and when the storyline finally reveals the true intentions of the characters, it suddenly makes sense that the ost is used there...
Tyson Phonesavanh there are actually 2 songs he used at the end. The first one is called Von, while the second is Birden. They both feature the singer Arnor Dan. Though my favorite would have to be either Nc17 or Is ft. POP ETC.
Hands down one of the most impactful osts for me is the Requiem of Silence in Re:Zero ep 15, it makes the already emotional scene exponentially better, giving me chills and tears.
I’m really surprised he didn’t bring this up, because that is probably my favorite moment in any anime and the music is a major part of it. Re:Zero could probably have its own video essay done about how it uses OPs and EDs for effect, and its insert songs too

Statikk Sheev there are few to none animes that take emotions as a part of our soul. Violet Evergarden is a pure, non cliche show like the others out there. It shows the real beauty of the 1900s, where we thought it was black and white, but it was really the majestic century of the world.
Gigguk didnt dive in so much to Violet Evergarden because he is already influenced to non-emotion anime like shounen and other violent anime crap out there.

It's about time that music in anime is being talked about in a grander scale in the anime community. It's super-important to the timbre of the atmosphere of the show you're watching, and if there's no music, it mostly gives you less stimulation to keep watching the show.

Dude, I loved Hiroyuki Sawano long before I even knew who he was. Attack on Titan is the first anime I watched and it's music is at least 40% of why I loved it so fucking much.

In a film called "no country for old men" 2007, there is no music at all. And it's absolutely perfect for making the whole thing really tense. There's no stupid loud piano or guitar to give away a big threat coming on to the main character.

Gurren Laganns Libera me from Hell was a god damn masterpiece. Doing rap over piano and drums and then having the opera with the bass of the drums coming through the background was epic. When they fuse the two at the end it really gives the tingles.
Omg right! If you check out the no game no life opening it has a similar thing with the piano and fast paced drums being the siblings in anime. It kinda matches to how they are in the anime with Sora doing most of most of the heavy lifting (drums) and Shiro doing the complicated stuff (piano). At least, that's how I like to think about it.

Zankyou no Terror is such an underrated show. I love the ost for it just simply because of how beautiful it sounds.
Not to mention that the ost suits the anime so well. You'd never expect something like that in an anime about terrorism, but when you discover the true meaning behind the music that one of the main characters listens to, and when the storyline finally reveals the true intentions of the characters, it suddenly makes sense that the ost is used there...

Tyson Phonesavanh there are actually 2 songs he used at the end. The first one is called Von, while the second is Birden. They both feature the singer Arnor Dan. Though my favorite would have to be either Nc17 or Is ft. POP ETC.
Hands down one of the most impactful osts for me is the Requiem of Silence in Re:Zero ep 15, it makes the already emotional scene exponentially better, giving me chills and tears.
I’m really surprised he didn’t bring this up, because that is probably my favorite moment in any anime and the music is a major part of it. Re:Zero could probably have its own video essay done about how it uses OPs and EDs for effect, and its insert songs too

I haven't watched Clannad in a very long time, but that dango song can still make me tear up, even though no one listening to this without having seen the anime would feel sad.
The dango song is manifested into my brain. Everytime I hear it I sing along and my eyes start to tear up even though I dont feel any sadness. I think I should see a doctor.

Actually iv never watched clannad. i know its a sad anime and the song is suppose to be sad so when i first heard it, it made me feel sad. now whenever i hear it i get teary eyed for some reason. so maybe its just a sad sounding some? or i just subconsciously make myself sad because i know it should be sad XD

God, Zankyou no Terror's OST is so fucking beautifully sad. The ending was more impactful when " Bless " starts playing it gives a finality like " That's it, that's all you get.".
