I don't know where you're based (America, UK, Africa somewhere?) but it makes little difference - you seem educated, informed and apolitical which is supremely refreshing - and so will already know that by no means have we had it perfect in the UK regarding race relations - but overall I do believe we have had it much better than in America. I am of South Sudanese 🇸🇸 descent and I can confirm what is being presented here.
When I visited your country 🇮🇱 Oren in 2022 I was in the city of Tel Aviv and was surprised to find so many South Sudanese people while I was there. I learned your government provided asylum/refuge for them.
I also had the privilege of visiting Yvel, a jeweler who has a program aiding and giving immigrants (from across the world) work through apprenticeship: Ethiopia 🇪🇹, Ukraine 🇺🇦, Russia 🇷🇺, Lebanon 🇱🇧, just to name a few.

The US is racist either way. My community college advisor tried to convince me to say I’m black on my college applications because I have north African roots, so I have a better chance of getting into university. Ironically I know a very kind Muslim Arab girl from Jordan who's paler then Oren. Pale skin is not an uncommon sight in the Mediterranean. Typically skin tones range from Dark Olive, to Pale. Sadly, the sentiment that began in the 90's that you could and should criticize white people based on the color of their skin is still with us today. It was racist then, and it remains racist now. NO RACISM is ok. I've gotten those same comments regarding that my opinions don't matter because I'm white. I have called those people racists and will continue to do so. I have no problem telling them that consistently, and maybe some day they'll listen. Don't give up on them!
