1:57 The Crown Vic with the lights on is a friend of mine’s tracker vehicle. I know 100% he started tracking storms due to the movie. I ran in to him through a storm tracking group we both belonged to back then. I remember him talking about being excited to go to Wakita for the anniversary. I’ve been a tracker for almost 20 years. I didn’t do it because of the movie. I took my wife and kids with me one night tracking storms but I got myself in a bad situation that I couldn’t see the storm and I couldn’t retreat south or east I could only go deeper into the storm. I promised myself to never be in that situation again and I studied and became certified with the nws then I continue to study year over year not to keep anything like a certification going just to keep out of that situation again.
I was very impressed when i saw it in the cinema for the first time and I've been a fan since then of course i also dreamed of one day having a ram truck just like the one in the movie, I have never seen more beatiful wheels on any truck ever
I was in Maysville,ok while the movie was being made was so awesome talked to Bill for a min such a very nice person I will never forget it awesome day
This movie got me interested in storms.. I have been in some hectic storms (no tornados but the sirens have gone off many times) but I've seen everything from intense winds, so much hail you couldn't see 2feet infront of you, power outages for days at a time or longer.. yeah we cooked hotdogs on the campfire well on a stick it was good, 2019 polar vortex where temperatures were -20 with windchill almost hitting -60 in some areas.. also my parents were in the blizzard of 78 in Ohio, they couldn't see out the window or even leave the house because the snow was up to their roof. The most epic thing I ever saw from a storm was red lightning I been here 28 years and never seen anything like it before with the power outage it looked even better.. After I saw Twister is when I found Reed Timmer and the show with the TIV (Tornado Intercept Vehicle) and til this day I watch anything storm related, like hurricane footage, tornado footage, severe storms (on youtube) and the severe storms with my own eyes which I always love.
That yellow Jeep Truck is one of the coolest trucks I have ever seen, mostly because of the movie but also it really does look cool (better than the Gladiator to me anyways) One day I Will buy either that or the 90s Dodge Ram in red, I so wish I could have gone to it but I will go there one day
I dragged my grandmother to go see this is 1997 when i was 9 years old. in the apollo cinema in Waterloo, Liverpool, UK. She was forever terrified and remembered the flying cows. one of my fondest memories of her. An outstanding film that initially made me pursue meteorology and later film-making. thank you all who made it.
I was the third shift maintenance lead at Universal Orlando's Twister show. We had lots of Twister movie memorabilia, including the storm chaser yellow school bus, and the van. Most were sold off when we closed Twister, and the museum might have received some of the items. I used to walk around and check out the props used in the movie. Dorothy and the cow were a pain to work on, especially as the ride aged.
@@GoingtotheMovies Thankfully the movie was made with CGI instead of having real animals thrown about and injured and they had to be very particular about the tornados and how they were created for the movie they had to look at a lot of photographs to make the twisters move and operate like real life tornados
Yeah this movie an irrationally fear of tornadoes and thunderstorms but thankfully I grew out of that. I love thunderstorms now, especially if I get the chance to sit out in a rocking chair on the porch and enjoy one nature’s most beautiful and noisy events.
Man that’s badass. I was 11 years old and me and my dad went to see it in theaters when it came out. I was a little scary at that age because we live in tornado alley here in the texas panhandle but it was still awesome
I know year late funny they playing Twister in few mins. Love this movie by the way they making a seguel Called twisters with Helena hut RIP Bill P Great actor, I got go we got cows lol
This was super cool! I love 'Twister' and I remember seeing it in theaters and in the lobby of the theater they had a mangled car to go with the whole 'tornado theme'
Cool to see that book cover in the glass case with the famous photo taken by a High School student of the F5 Tracy, Minnesota tornado on June 13, 1968. My sister and grandmother were in that tornado. My sister was just a baby. I wasn't born yet. My mom told me that she was in Tracy that afternoon and right before she left to drive out to the University, my grandmother looked up at the sky and said, "This looks like tornado weather." Little did they know. My grandmother and sister survived, taking shelter in the basement. The house wasn't touched. But many people lost their lives, and so many others were injured. The property damage was unimaginable through town.
First saw this in grade 7 at school for movie day when it had just been released on vhs. I know I aged myself lol. It freaked me out but I loved it. To this day the opening gives me goosebumps lol
At 6:53 I remember that 3D board when the film came out. I was amazed how cool was that, the film became one of my favourites, even to this day is still one of the best film I have ever watched.
@@GoingtotheMovies absolutely! A little side note, me and my friend chased tornados back in the days before cell phones. I remember a day back in the early 90's that we saw 5 in one day. Not watching radar, we didn't have it, just knowing storms
As a Texas storm chaser, I'll soon be visiting this museum myself. This is something I'd love to see. Seeing this brings back memories. I personally am very excited for Twister 2 "Twisters" coming July 19th, 2024. 😊

He said he had to put every item down and how much they paid for each one, and it was cash. When the shooting was over he said they gave him all the stuff back
Will there be a pt.2 release of the twister locations? I thought that video and the more recent one of home alone were awesome, I alwaays thought the house interior was incredible and reminded me a lot of my own 90's house, and was blown away that all of it were set pieces and not an actual home!
The movie twister never terrified me. I love tornadoes I know in that movie tornadoes can happen in real life too. I know that. And I know it’s scary. Luckily I don’t live in tornado alley. I only live in Florida, and I only go to hurricanes luck with me.
Florida is actually a state that has quite a few tornadoes. They aren't usually as strong, USUALLY, but they do occur there quite frequently. Hurricanes and tropical storms love spawning tornadoes.
The other surviving truck that wasn’t there is in Gatlinburg Tennessee at the star car museum. I can tell you this because I was there last month. So if you ever go to Tennessee, and you like twister go to star cars Jesus that felt like an ad
I will never watch this movie during the summer time again because I one time made the mistake of watching this movie right after my old home town of Clinton Missouri had a tornado warning and it really scared me really bad that I couldn't finish watching the movie because I was getting sick from watching it. because I'm deathly afraid of tornadoes
@@steveswenka2370 I plan to make one eventually. I’m not sure if someone else has. That would include the bridge before the final tornado, Twister hill, and the house from the final scene.

It was called a land line after cell phones came out. Before that, it was called a "telephone".
