- 7th Avenue signal on the left: 1.5 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights, a Harmon 12x20 inch light, a General Signals Type 2 electronic bell(?), a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
7th Avenue signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights, an ASC electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Fogg Street signal on the left: 2 pairs of Federal Signal 12x20 inch lights, an ASC electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Fogg Street signal on the right: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 12x20 inch lights, a WRRS mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
These were the fifth and sixth trains I caught today. The fifth train was my favorite catch of the day: a southbound mixed freight with CSX's first AC6000 leading, CSX 600! The trailing engines were an ES40DC, a road slug, and a GP40-2. The sixth train was just an ES40DC running lite across the crossing.
This was my first time hearing an ASC e-bell in person! Not sure if the General Signals e-bell is a Type-1 or a Type-2 as I can barely hear it.
Also, a word of warning, this crossing is apparently in a really bad area.

Man it is a shame this crossing was closed!
Definitely.
Superb video David! I love the ASC Electronic bells, the WRRS mechanical bell, and the long horn blow at 0:38!
Thanks! It's a shame this crossing no longer exists.
Great find with the ASC e bells! But sadly this crossing closed :(😭😭😭😭😭😭
It’s always the good ones that go 😭
Thanks! And yea, it's a shame.
Amazing Catch and Crossing!
Thanks!
Awesome! I saw that AC6000CW numbered 600 too!
Thanks!
601 was one of three "Diversity in Motion" AC6000CWs, along with 5000 and 5001. Both are now in storage.
It's a shame the crossing got closed.
Great Catch! Nice find with the ASC E-Bells. I wonder why do some have their own sound and some sound like GS type 1s.
Thanks! I haven't noticed any differences in sound between different models of ASC e-bell.
freebrickproductions ASC Electronic Bells normally have a deeper tone then GS Type 1. All the ASC E-Bells in my area have the deeper tone. But it seems like the ones UPRR and CSX own emit the GS Type 1 sound.
Edit: Forgot to mention San Diego MTA light rail also has them and they have a deeper tone also then GS Type 1.
And nice catch of that CSX engine following that train at 6:50. I would like to see something like that.
Thanks!
Main Line Productions true I have not seen that
Is this before they closed ir
The auto rack train was on track 2 the other locomotive was on track 1
THE ROAD IS CLOSED WOW
0:52 nice catch if an AC6000CW! (I think most are 4460 horsepower now!)
All of CSX's are 4600HP now, IIRC. UP's have always been 4400HP, but could've been upgraded to 6000 HP if they so desired.
Great catches! RIP these signals, quite a diversity of bells (and all the equipment, really) here. Where is the closest ASC e-bell to you now? AFAIK, for me it's the ones in Glen Ellyn, IL, and the ones in the next town over, Wheaton, IL, which are both a good three hours away from me.
Thanks! No idea, TBH.
Lol the suv almost tried beat the gate lol decided to turn around go different route lmao nice video
Thanks!
That crossing is long gone.
Because it was not safe.
I'm aware.
the ASC bells sounds like a GS TYPE 2 E-bell
They sound more like GS Type 1s to me.
freebrickproductions yea they do sound like general signals type 1
There is a power move at 7:00
I'm aware. I even mentioned it in the description.
LUCKY!!!!
Thanks! How so?
I'd say because of the ASC e-bells, CSX 600, and that light engine following the auto rack.
freebrickproductions when did this crossing close
A few years back now, I want to say.
Awesome video. What do you mean by a bad area. Crime or a lot of cops who hate railfans here? Just wondering...
Crime, mostly.
***** oh ok.
Wait where area
