you can also just get the "Hot Racing GRM37C Arrma Grom Steel Diff Outdrives" Oil filled differentials are better because you can tune it with different oils, but these steel diff outdrives from hot racing solve the problem for $10 per diff. So $20 front and back instead of $40. The next weak point is the axles
That was interesting to follow, and actually I went and watched this after your brushless upgrade video, I also subscribed to follow how you progress with it... Weird how just a very few people got their hands on this and the manufacturer keeps not announcing it, they are basically pranking the entire RC community, ha ha! I think it'll be a great little buggy, the proportions look more right than many of the cheaper ones with way too short wheelbase and too much power... Have a good one!

Yes, they can definitely burn up in stock form. The Typhon does have a fan though, which the Granite does not. Recommend adding one to the Granite even if you are leaving everything else stock. There is an extra port on the ESC for it.

I think arrma is doing this on purpose to gauge the rc communities enthusiasm on these new groms so they know how many to make for initial release

Stock motor is going to overheat like crazy with an 18t pinion. The granite grom had that issue with an 16t pinion.

@@Killer_of_RCs oh, trust me. I added the stick motor fan from my Mojave to the grom. A little bit big,but a zip tie sure came in handy 🤣
How tall are the typhon grom tires? 12mm hex? Thanks.
Same height as the Granite Grom, I don't think they list it but I think it is 65-70mm IIRC. 12mm hex.
