Walked passed Doc at the 2020 All Star game, and my response was "hey look, it's Doc Emrick" to which he said hi and kept going. Almost regret not asking for a photo with him
Doc, Eddie O, Pierre, Kenny Albert, the late Dave Strader plus the entire studio crew, Liam, Kathryn, Jonesy, Sharpy, Ace, Jeremy Roenick and EVEN Mike Milbury. NBC, you did very well. Thank you!
As a Blackhawks fan I was spoiled to watch and hear 3 memorable Stanley Cup titles on NBC/NBCSN.
I hope JR and Milbury will join ESPN this fall
@@damienchance2622 Or Turner, either one is fine by me. I just heard Kenny Albert and Eddie O will be the top team at Turner. I had no idea they actually signed over a month ago.
Wow…just wow!!! Thank you NBC for so many years of memories of cheers, jeers and tears.
Started tearing up watching this, thanks for all the memories Doc!
What a tearjerker. Great job, Doc. You were the best play by play guy and will be sorely missed.
I've been a hockey fan since about 2012 when I was 7 and the kings won their first cup. Doc was the voice i grew up with. I didn't expect this to hit so hard
so fitting that vin scully made an appearance in this, because he and doc were the greatest of their respective generations
Thanks for the memories, NHL on NBC.
ESPN/ABC may have the rights, but nothing beats the NHL coverage that NBC can provide. I've witnessed it all, including my Bruins in 2011 winning the Stanley Cup. NHL on NBC will always have a special place in my heart.
as a 7 year old child the first time I watched national broadcast was the 2010 playoffs on NBC and Versus, with the Flyers and Hawks finals.
Now, 18 years old and heading off to college, and 6 years of playing hockey myself, the voice and the broadcasts that shaped a big love in my childhood says farewell.
Genuinely got emotional watching this. Thank for all the memories NBC.
Thanks for the memories
NBC is probably the best in covering sports
Watched all the Blackhawks Stanley Cup runs, those gave me such happy memories
Same
I watch this video every once and a while and every time it makes me cry. It was truly the end of an era and it’s the era I grew up on. My first memory of hockey is watching fluery make that save in 2009 and I’ve been hooked ever sense. NBC truly made my love for the game of hockey as big as it is and ever will be. Thank you NBC
The hockey world will miss you Doc….Thanks for all the great memories
I may not of liked NBC broadcast, but there’s no denying how great this guy was. Legend.
NBC gave me the best memories ever, probably because the Blackhawks won 3 stanley cups on nbc but I loved hockey on nbc, the intro, the games, the players and the Commentators, I'm gonna miss it 😢
Thank you for the games and memories!!!
Even here in the UK, Ice hockey and Doc Emrick was a match made in heaven, all the best memories are even better when narrated by Doc .
I never truly realized that this was about the NHL on NBC and not a memoriam for Doc retiring. But thank you. For the years of hockey and introducing me to my favorite sport, to the commentary that’s made me laugh, and to the fun of the last 16 years. I don’t think I’d be the same without it. So as much as I am grateful to hear you say thank you, let me say it back: thank you for giving us something like this
Thank you for the memories!
It’s been a part of my life for 16 years. I grew up in Minny and hockey is our life and always will be. Doc, KT, Keith etc have done an unbelievable job. Don’t be sad that it’s over, be happy that it happened! Cheers
Thank you NBC. 🏒 🏒 🏆 🇺🇸 🇨🇦 ❤️ ❤️ 😢
I literally I didn't think I would cry when I clicked on this video! So many memories! What a great video!
Doc, youre a gem, and a national treasure.....I'll miss your youthful enthusiasm and knowledge of the game. You are larger than life, you MADE broadcast hockey in the USA.
So fortunate to have been watching hockey during this man's career. There will NEVER be another broadcaster like him.
Dock Emrick is and always will be the greatest play by play announcer
Definitely one of the best but to me he’s the 2nd greatest only behind Rich Jeannerete
Thank you for 16 seasons of the nhl on nbc 2005-2021 thanks for the moments that live us all goodbye.
Rest in Peace!
Beautifully edited. Really liked this piece, as it was first rate quality.
Thanks folks... Been a helluva ride... You ladies and gentlemen left a legacy of broadcasting the game that will be hard to top.
Doc is simply the BEST. I really hope he will still be around with some reporting / Documentaries, etc. He is a consummate professional that is unmatched the world over. I’m hopeful. Thank you.
I was not expecting to get emotional watching this but yet here we are. Thanks for all of the memories, NBC!
Never realized how many memories this sport had on NBC. The 2005-2021 run for NBC will never be forgotten
It was a fun run for the NHL and NBC and me personally as their time together began in my senior year of high school. I'll miss these telecasts, but will always keep the memories created.
Never will I forget that moment before a playoff game when that music came over! Simultaneous anxiety and passion! Forever love NHL on NBC!😮😮😮
It is an end of an era for the NHL. The entire Rock the Red era of Capitals Hockey culminating in the 2018 Stanley Cup Championship has been on the NHL On NBC. Thanks to NBC Sports for all the memories! ESPN and Turner Sports have very large shoes to fill coming up in the Fall.
@Karl M There were games on TV in 1939 and ‘40? Really?
@Karl M They were actually on TV way back then? Wow!
@Karl M being completely honest I think NBC (Comcast) may get rid of the RSNs.
@@DarkPCTV Would not surprise me, as FOX sold their RSNs to Sinclair, who leases the naming rights to Bally’s.
@Karl M Back when only the super rich could afford a furniture bureau with a 10” b&w screen.
I CANT STOP CRYING 😩 😫 😭 😢 😪 😔
Amazing! And great on you for having Doc read this. I could listen to him read the Olive Garden menu and still be riveted.
I grew up on CBC Hockey Night in Canada 🇨🇦. When NBC started showing games, I was always impressed with the way it was presented. Play by play was some of the most exciting in hockey I had heard. Rival the great Bob Cole at CBC. 👍❤️....I also should add that my preference in the playoffs was leaned towards watching games on NBC.
I'd take NBC for play by play, but I'm taking HNIC for analysis cause Ron and Don were the best.
I like watching the NHL on NBC but it was sad the you left, I miss you very much for the past 16 years so I couldn’t have done without you. May god bless you. It’s the end of an era.
Doc gets me everytime.....one of the GOATs.....as much as I hated watching hockey on NBC, mostly because of the clowns in the studio during intermission, I always loved listening to Doc giving me a heart attack on even the most routine plays. Lol I also won't ever forget watching the Penguins back to back Cup runs either, which were all on NBC. Thank you for your contributions to the sporting world and all the wonderful lifetime memories you have provided me.
Man i can’t believe this hit so hard had to come back and watch it again I miss doc so much man
This made me shed some tears. 16 wonderful years of NHL on NBC/NBCSN and whether it was KT, John Forslund or Doc Emerick... i say thank you for the memories and I will miss y'all.
I don’t know why but for some reason I loved the fact that he called Ovechkin and Crosby by only their first names
God bless you folks. Thank you.
Absolutely wonderful piece. We'll miss you, NHL on NBC, especially you, Doc.
I miss Doc and NHL on NBC. It's not the same anymore 🥹
Amazing. Thanks for the memories. NBC ROCKS!
Doc is hands down one of the best sport broadcasters in the history of sports
I only started loving hockey this year and the NHL stopped showing on NBC I just wish I could go back in time and see just one game of the Stanley Cup Playoffs with Doc and Eddie. Hey you never know, they could perfect time travel.
