- The Transformers universe is full of unique characters with exciting origins that have come a long way from being a part of a toy line to becoming well-loved characters on screen. One such character is the anti-hero 'Dreadwing', first introduced in the Transformers toy line in 1988. Dreadwing was created when two new toys named 'Dreadwind' and 'Darkwing' were released as a set. These two toys combined to form this deadly Decepticon that soon became a recurring character in various Transformers media, such as movies, series, video games, and comics. He was extensively included in the Transformers Prime animated series and was also written into the Transformers movies to some extent. Let us have a look at his origins and explore the story arc of this powerful Decepticon!

OK but Dreadwing was never an Autobot, it's a different thing if the guy has a code of honor and morals he won't cross as a Decepticon, even for his master Megatron.

It would have been so cool if Skyquake stayed alive in TF Prime long enough for him and Dreadwing to reunite and it'd be revealed that they could combine into Dark wing the skybreaker that could have been a cool way to introduce Combiners into the series. Dreadwing was one if my top favorites the the series I would have loved to have seen him and his brother fight together be it as combiner or side by side and for those who may not know dreadwing was voiced by the legendary Tony Todd if you don't know Jim I highly recommend you check out his work in both acting and voice acting.
Of all the things TP didn't do justice for these two characters
@@vorrdegard2176 it's especially insulting to Skyquake because starscream referred him as a legendary warrior before he found him in stasis and to have him die so easy is bad enough but he was basically the mindless brute type but dreadwing was a legit problem and could go toe to toe with Optimus not many bots where able to do that. At least dreadwing and Optimus got a a full episode of them fighting while looking for the Apex Armor but Skyquake gets done extra dirty when they bring him back just to give the kids they're own episode I could go on but this is long enough.
Dreadwing’s voice actor is also the same guy voiced the Fallen in TF2.

They did Dreadwing so good. Awesome story arc, amazing voice actor and he was great as The Fallen in ROTF too (Tony Todd) still have to grab the new leader class.🤘

A Decepticon is NOT a antihero but rather a villain.
But I still feel bad for him for losing someone who's close to him for a long time. And that someone is a brotherly, twin sibling. And that of course, is Skyquake. It really hurts to lose someone that you're close to like family. And I know it hurts. But the truth is, when a close twin sibling like your brother or sister comes to their moment of death, it hurts to let them go, but it's the right thing to do. When we age to adulthood, we all have to let our children go on their own. Or when it comes to their time of death, we really have to move on without them.
And that's the truth.
But i do feel Dreadwing's pain for losing someone who's so close to.

Dreadwing turned from autobot to deception? Hmm 🤔 I made an oc named stormstrike who is a starscream repaint but has an autobot brother named icecomber. Stormstrike left the bots after his brother's and his mentor alpha consla died in spark failure. she saw the potential they had but stormstrike left in the grieving he was on a mission and shot down medix found him injured and took him for medical attention as ice comber has a conjunx named cometracer and even in argument he would return to the autobots. The stormstrike renamed himself to starknight and getting rid of his nullrays. There's been allot more then just these two as I came to total of 5 oc I'd save one for myself.
Great video and I like the debates of what would have happened if Dreadwing would have still been alive :) Please make videos for the following transformers from both the original G1 cartoons and the the later shows : Grimlock, Hot rod, Cup, and Octane :)

If Skyquake didn’t die because of Optimus, Dreadwing probably would’ve Joined the Autobots and the story would play out the way most of us wanted it to be. (Or at least how I would’ve preferred it, he’s my favourite TF:Prime decepticon)
