I've thought about a doctor who is working on cryo therapy, and dealing with an advanced nerve disorder causing him extreme pain. He develops a portable suit for that can expel cold air to hold back his agony and also be a realistic explanation to a cause to his madness.
YES! and he uses a High Tech liquid nitrogen gun. like he can literally spray you in the face and your face will break in and turn black like frost burn
@@worldview3182 I don't know if we need that level of villain in Reeve's universe. I see a more tragic figure who can't control his emotions through his physical pain and needs to resort to CERTAIN crimes to power his suit to restrain his condition. You can even have his wife suffer from some advanced MS and instead of an iron lung, it's the same device but a cooling system and in order to pay the bills, he has to go to extreme measures. A frost bite type of killer though would be an interesting fit. I thought maybe if they did Freeze in that sort of vein, he could be a serial killer who uses other cold tactics to kill. Like the fabled icicle that leaves no fingerprints. That would be a task for Batman.
These are all great, creative ideas, but I don't see them appearing in the Reeves-verse. They'd be more suited to Nolan's version of "realistic." Reeves's Gotham isn't just realistic, it's down to earth. He's not that interested in even possible things if they require exposition. His Batman's gadgets needed no exposition. We could see him building his Batmobile, tinkering with his tech. His Bat Cave, even stitched leather cowl, everything had an explanation built in. It all told its own story. His Riddler looked like someone ripped from real newspaper headlines. So for his Mister Freeze won't be someone physically transformed, or in need of a cooling suit to survive. He won't have a special, high-tech freeze gun, or a high-tech anything. He'll just be a guy. The thing about superhero characters is that their psychology is physically manifested in the form of whatever super-power they have. But Batman himself proves that you don't need a fantastical interpretation of their psychology. His power is simply willpower. Two-Face doesn't need powers, he just needs the scar to match his dissociated mind. And Mister Freeze doesn't need to be physically transformed, just psychologically. He doesn't need a sci-fi freeze gun, just large supply of liquid nitrogen and a deserving victim. If you strip away everything that isn't fifties weird science or James Bond super-villain tech, you're left with a man who becomes evil out of grief, a man on a mission of revenge, just like Batman. Victor is a man transformed by rage into something cold. In the comics, this is physicalized by his condition. But strip away that layer, and you still have a character who works perfectly as a Batman villain.
@@rottensquid Well I said idea, I'm aware of how grounded this universe is. An electric cooling suit isn't beyond reason, particularly for reasons I gave and we still have a guy in a Bat suit which unrealistically can survive a bomb blast (I'm talking the mask) and somehow protected Batman enough after jumping off a building and crashing that he could walk away no problem. Oh yeah and a Bat light that no one tracks down or no APB after Batman escapes a police dept. You can still suspend disbelief if you want. But I also suggested a killer who uses simple ice weapons, like the icicle. Having a killer whose weapon can't even be traced bc lack of fingerprints, you can simply melt or break it after use, no two icicles are the same, I think would also be suitable. We'll just have to wait another year and a half.
@@Kasigi03 These are all fair points. Batman seems to be surprisingly indestructible for a "grounded, realistic" take on the character. But the way I see it, "grounded and realistic" is a description of style, not logic. Like the Nolan films, there's nothing actually realistic about Reeves' bat-verse. They just have a realistic "flavor," especially compared to Burton's cartoon reality. And while Nolan's films definitely could include an electric cooling suit, along with an elaborate explanation for what it's for and how it works. But Reeves' Bat-verse doesn't do explanations. That said, now you bring it up, stabbing someone to death with a literal icicle is a brilliant idea. I'm kind of in love with it. Batman working out what the murder weapon actually is would making for a great detective sequence. Excellent idea you have there.
If we get Mr freeze then I want to see the theme of the movie be about love or something like how Mr freeze does what he does for love for his wife and even see Batman’s and Catwoman’s relationship grow more if love is going to be the theme of the movie
They should kind of introduce Freeze in Batman 2. Then, do a "prequel "mini series like they did Penguin. So, you have Freeze and Court of Owls in Batman 3!
There're theories that Julian Rush from The Penguin is Matt Reeves' version of the Scarecrow and that bliss is the precursor to the fear toxin. With Gotham being under martial law, the flood water damage still being a problem and Oz, finally showing his true ruthless colors taking reigns in Gotham's power positions, I'd say the citizens of Gotham have quite a few reasons to be afraid. I think Scarecrow could also work as the perfect antagonist, but since Reeves revealed that the sequel will be during winter it essentially does mean that Mr. Freeze will be the main antagonist of the film. Unless Reeves wants to do The Batman II: Frozen In Fear, but that might be a bit much.
@@Lw11467 Remember, it's perfectly possible to translate the fantastical elements of comics into a realistic, down-to-earth version to suit Reeves' universe. With his club foot and scarred face, Oz Cobb has more in common with Tim Burton's mutated monster Penguin than the character from the comics. The trick would be to find a way to make Mr. Freeze not just possible in the real world, but someone you could easily imagine showing up on the news, the way the Riddler, with his serial killer vibe did. People have been fan-casting Bryan Cranston, and while I think Cranston may be a bit old, and probably too on the nose, I think the chemical suits he tended to wear in Breaking Bad might be the ideal look, eerie and horrifying, but authentic. He doesn't have to have a physical condition, or fire a freeze gun. He could simply murder people by drugging them and then submerging them alive in liquid nitrogen. That would fit with the Reeves-verse's Seven vibe, without being the least bit fantastical. One could almost imagine someone in real life doing that. But only in Florida.
As long as it shows the drama between Victor and Nora in the Detective part of the film. This is a chance to show how Batman can use both part of his lives to save Gotham by stopping Victor and saving Nora. Nora through write or spoken words makes it known that she disapproves of Victor methods showing a turning point of what Mr. Freeze will do. "Then let me live." - Nora (Arkham Series)
It’s too early for the court of owls. I say freeze pt 2 and the court be hinted at throughout the series and then the final villain in the last movie hoping it’s more than just three. This universe needs only Batman and his characters and multiple movies and shows throughout many years.
I love the Mr. Freeze idea, but the highlights of Mr. Freeze is he is a fantastical character. I just think it would be hard to do a grounded mr freeze, but him still be the Mr. freez we know and love . If anyone can do it though reeves can
It would definitely be a big challenge but I think people are more than willing to accept some major changes for the sake of realism just like they generally did with the riddler in the first movie. If they could do it right with freeze, it would be super impressive to the audience and the re-imagining of the character would be a particular point of interest. All they really have to do is work around the concept of a scientist/inventor who does stuff related to freezing stuff.
I love this idea. You share my sentiments on the sequel to the Batman exactly. I think there's no more perfect villain or to raise the stakes than to bring in a realistic Mr. Freeze!!!!
itll make more sequential sense to have scarecrow, with bliss showing extreme euphoria he can just change it to be a negation of it, and so many character will have tie to it, like sofia and if they are doing her then harley quinn
Mr freeze can be a kinda creepy character but sympathetic in this universe. His suit and mask could be scary and instead of a freeze gun it’s a proto version that’s a pipe connected to a gas tank strapped on his back. He could be a very threatening person in this universe especially seeing random frozen bodies around Gotham.
I don't ever write comments but... In my eyes, the penguin had been told he had to have a crystal clean rep to get into the government. He did this by getting rid of anyone who could provide dirt on him (i.e Sophia & Victor). The only person who could stop Oz or tell the truth of what Oz is and what he did, is his mother. But due to her vegetative state she can't tell the world or anyone. In some way, shape or form I could see some character needing to bring Oz's mum back either to gather information on The Penguin to bring him down. Or Oz himself wanting to being his mum back to tell him she's proud of him. To do this I imagine there would need to be a scientist character. Why not Freeze? The penguin is a key manipulator and I could see him using Freeze to bring back his mother with the promise he'll help fund Freeze's research to save his own wife. It would make Freeze more tragic as well if he can save other peoples loved ones but not his own. Going on from this, Freeze's name is Victor. I feel like it would be an amazing plot point to have another character the penguin manipulates and uses, then discards to be called Victor? Maybe? I feel like it would be poetic Victor Freeze is an honest good man, who is pure of heart and is the most non-corrupt character. The Penguin is the opposite. He could be manipulated and forced by the penguin to believe Oz is his friend, and he does what he does because its for his wife (committing crime). Oz also making Victor Freeze believe batman is the enemy. Only to realize later he was tricked. Then teaming up with batman to fight the corrupt forces of Gotham. Maybe I make no sense. But I just had to say this :)
In arkham knight nora is freed from her cryo chamber & sees wat mr freeze has become & tell him that this isn't him & that she doesn't need saving & to spend the few days she has together
For a trilogy, I think building on all of the 1st movie's plot points would be better. It would be odd to start with what was primarily a corruption story but then continue with one focused on an unrelated villain. I get that there were other arcs introduced such as Bruce's character development, but aspects like Gotham's corruption and characters like Penguin shouldn't be ignored. In real life, it would take more than a billionaire's handouts to make those complex sorts of issues go away. Batman relentlessly fighting for justice & building resistance within an insane and corrupt city sounds a lot more interesting than a generic "villain of the movie" story with a "learn to use your money and let people in" theme.
The problem with MR freez in the Batman part2 is there no tease about this charackter from the Batman and penguin ,the villain that keep getting tease is Hush, joker and court of Owl so i think Batman part 2 will have Hush and part 3 will have court of owl and maybe joker

But In reality Mr. Freeze isn't a villain he was never portrayed as a villain he's the DC equivalent of The Lizard he became villainous by the will of others not his own his evil his sin is a curse not a willful choice. Every appearance of Mr. Freeze displays him as a Wandering Jew type figure destined to walk the Earth with nothing. And to have Mr. Freeze as a villain or maybe the main antagonist he has to be featured as a redeemable wronged character not a villain because he isn't one in a sense as Batman cannot canonically be displayed as a killer Mr. Freeze cannot be canonically displayed as an unsympathetic character so they have to display him as a relatable character.
In the comics and most media gotham goes to shit when the waynes die it was already shit but gets even worse with corruption and crime i believe if bruce was bruce wayne full time he could do a better job at cleaning up the city than he can do as batman as brice Wayne he doesn't need to hyde in the shadows he can open and save gotham head on i do feel like its the wayne name that makes gotham safer they are ment to be a symbol amongst the city one of my favourite bruce wayne moments in the comics is during the new 52 where he lost his memory for a bit and he was just bruce Wayne it was amazing seeing him because batman again i felt for Alfred so much in that run 😂😂😂
I think Mr Freeze should be saved for the DCU, I don't want to see a Grounded Freeze. I think Matt Reeves should do Villains like, Professor pyg, Hugo Strange, Anarchy, KGBeast, and Mad Hatter. I think the Villian for Part 2 will be Hush.
Nah its gonna be penguin but main villan will be court of owls. There has been owls in batman and penguin (in the court scene) Riddler may of been killing court of owls members. That's why the guy with the bomb neckless wouldn't spill the beans (they'll kill my family) made to look like it's falcone he's talking about.
Yeah, There is no way Freeze is happening in this universe. It’s too random considering everything that’s going with Sophia, Oz, Selina, Joker, and Politically. A guy walking around with the a frozen suit and freezing people will throw off the serious tone of the film.
We need more action in the next batman. Idk why but i just dont believe that he was actually batman. He didnt feel like batman. He felt like a kid trying to be batman. I want more excitement in the next movie. He wasnt intimidating enough.
But, Batman is rich, right ? Why not "defeat" Mr Freeze with funding his research? Would be an easy way to stop him from doing crime, if he just needs a rich dude to support his science. Science that also could safe many lifes, not just his wifes.
As villains go he's pretty far fetched and his origin is not believable. Clayface is more of a possibility than freeze. Poison ivy is a good start to get a move on with the fantasy aspect of batguys
It would be perfect finding out the court was behind all Thomas Wayne’s political moves and they used Carmine as muscle to control him and the real reason Martha was in Arkham Asylum was because she had a second child and that became the court adopts and trains to become Hush or Talon and they are using him as an assassin for their doing. But to think that needs to happen in the 3rd film
I've been seeing this video in my recommended for a few hours, and I have to say, at 2 minutes and 49 seconds in, your ideas way too fantastic in element. This is a universe where Riddler was basically a mass Hayward, Joker seems like they're going to be a mass k word, Magpie showed up for about 5 minutes only to be keyworded, and where Clayface was just a prostitute that wears different wigs, they are not going to do anything as Fantastical as a man surviving a cryogenic slab explosion
What I want is for Harvey to appear then for them to give him his own show like penguin showing him become two-face
They should use that model for every villain.
Keeping with the theme of the video would be a change to make his face disfigured by the cold.
the charecter would need to be established first*

I want man-bat
Id rather see two face and Black mask with the penguin.. keep the Gangsters coming
Hush would be cool only if they don’t do the Face Off version
lol we need Bryan Cranston to play Freeze. Bald cap again and everything
We need to see clayface… it’s time for a villain we haven’t seen
Nah its gonna be penguin but main villan will be court of owls. There has been owls in batman and penguin (in the court scene)
Riddler may of been killing court of owls members. That's why the guy with the bomb neckless wouldn't spill the beans (they'll kill my family) made to look like it's falcone he's talking about.
I dont think the freeze-gun is too fantastical for the Matt Reeves Universe*
I'd be disappointed if Mr. Freeze wasn't the main villain.
I heard scarecrow and joker will be the villians
Am I the only one who could give a fuck about Mr freeze especially in this universe
Nah, batman is fighting gangsters so who better than the ventriloquist? Black mask would work too.
I'm sorry but after the first movie and especially after watching the Penguin, a fantastical villain would just be too jarring.
As villains go he's pretty far fetched and his origin is not believable. Clayface is more of a possibility than freeze. Poison ivy is a good start to get a move on with the fantasy aspect of batguys
Off topic but I hated the Mister Freeze from The Batman animated tv show. Voiced by Mr.Krabs
rather have azrael mk ultra cult
Shaddap
Your explanation is too sci-fi. Maybe he could be a cyro expert with a freeze gun, but that's it.
Court of Owls is overrated.
Mr. Freeze is too fantastical for Reevesverse. Court Of Owls or Hugo Strange will be the villian
Freeze sucks
Cry harder snow cone
Too unrealistic for the Matt Reeves Batverse.
