Nights was a series that all magazines said was amazing, but I never liked it despite I really tried. I bought the game on Steam and never saw the appeal.
@@st1ka Well that's where I disagree, except for the CD audio part. There were some pretty popular synths, such as Korg's M1 and 01W or the Roland Sound Canvas and JV series, or even sample CDs a la X-Static Goldmine. Those synths and samples all contributed to pretty distinct sonorities, although those sonorities are even more distinct between publishers and composers, like example the reliance Capcom had on the S-50. So in theory it's not that hard, you use the SNES samples, you backtrack to their sources so you have higher quality samples, you slap those on a midi of yours, add some optional effects and voila! (though it's more complex than that in practice)
Not to take anything a way from the gameplay, but maybe basing a game franchise around a harlequin inspired by Jung's concept of the Shadow wasn't the best commercial decision... And it's definitely not a mistakeYuji Naka would make again🙄
I’m a be honest. Those “bad” ports are just exposing how lame and boring the main game is. I don’t understand the hype for this game. I remember playing it in the 90s. I was drawn in by the hype and marketing of all the game magazines at the time. I was so excited that first hour. But the longer I played the more I realized there wasn’t much to this game. The bosses added a little bit of variety but overall I felt like the industry had oversold me in this. The graphics were impressive for the time but the game itself was so uncompelling. I didn’t event bother past the second boss. I wish the music was better too. Let me correct that. The music isn’t bad I just… I dunno I’m not into it. Thank God I also had Sonic R. Once you get used to the handling in Sonic R it’s a LOT of fun. Also the music is godly.
The game is a bit weird. To be honet I'm not Nights' biggest fan. I think it's neat idea, but one that I still have some trouble wrapping my head around

16:22 Wait, is it still possible to play this game? I thought the site was down
I downloaded an app called flashpoint which lets you download a ton of flash games that were archived by fans.
St1ka, as always, made a great release! Lots of interesting and useful information! I've never played the game, maybe in the future I'll give it a chance) Like button pressed) Friends, do not pass by, put a like, subscribe to the St1ka channel, who has made such a good video for you! It's not difficult for you, in general, but it's useful, necessary and important for the author of the channel to create high-quality content in the future, and promote on TH-cam :) There is still a lot of different and interesting content waiting for you ahead!
thank you so much! :D
Shockwave IS Flash, at least was until Adobe bought them and rebranded it as Adobe Flash.
I was unsure on how to describe Shockwave. The last time I said it was basically flash someone else told me they were completely different haha
Nights was a series that all magazines said was amazing, but I never liked it despite I really tried. I bought the game on Steam and never saw the appeal.
yeah it's definitely its own weird thing. The game took years to grow on me.
NiGHTS Into Dreams Slot Machine 💀💀💀
for adult fans lol
i miss nights 🥺
Maybe you'll need a 32-bit intro 🤔
Yeah I thought about that, but there's no intro song variation that would fit 😅
@@st1ka Maybe I can do it.
ah it's different. What I mean is, because the 32-bit generation used CDs, there's no type of sound that you'd associate with 32-bits ^^
I don't swear
But...
WTF if that thumbnail?!?!?!?
Believe it or not, it's in the official code for the sega saturn. It's an unused model of nights
WHY?!?!?!?!!!?
@@The-Crystal-Warrior haha right? It's so weird that I HAD to add it to the thumbnail
Sometimes you make some weird thumbnails
@@The-Crystal-Warrior Oh, I LOVE making weird thumbnails haha
Not to take anything a way from the gameplay, but maybe basing a game franchise around a harlequin inspired by Jung's concept of the Shadow wasn't the best commercial decision... And it's definitely not a mistakeYuji Naka would make again🙄
haha
sonic fans killed this series
I think it's neat idea, but one that I still have some trouble wrapping my head around
a NiGHTS slot machine for a hotel in califOrnia? the game was inspired by mystere at the treasure Island hotel so why wouldnt they put it in there? I mean vegas period is better for slot machines
can't say I know much about slot machines :P
14:02 I HAD ONE OF THOSE HOLY SHIT
Is it even fair to compare Sega workers that has a lot of crap they have to do behind the scenes for rushed products to make flash games to Newgrounds people that just makes these in there spare time 😅
I mean, I get the time limitations, but they felt so disappointing when compared to stuff from fans :P
@@st1ka You could at least compare it to another official companies flash games like Nintendo's mission in snowdriftland 😅
@@FukuritaMariko i didn't want to deviate from the topic tbh 😅
Comment for engagement
Never cared for this game.
I remember playing it upon release for a couple minutes, then never picked the controller back up.
Next.
It's definitely the type that needs to grow on you
Idk Whats This Game But Ik About Sonic 💀💀💀
Nights was Sega's attempt at making another sonic
If you never played a NiGHTS game then you gotta play it
Thirty seconds into this video and I feel tempted to start a GoFundMe so that my countryman here can afford the services of a professional voice actor.
I wouldn't want a voice actor even if he came free
14:05 So you think Nintendo’s Game and Watch is awful too?
personally? Not really a fan of game and watch
Hello guys im from the future 😌
