  • I finally bought the needed parts for the 54" deck on the F725. I have not been able to use this mower for a few months and had to use my spare mower which takes forever to cut the lawn. I have had this mower for around 12 years and forgot how easy it is to cut lawns with it compared to other mowers until I had to use the newer/cheaper Troy-Bilt that struggles in damp or tall grass. The Troy-Bilt is my spare mower that I got as payment for mowing a lawn several times a few years ago.

I just rebuilt my deck, just like this one. $54.75 put three spindle assemblies on my doorstep from Ebay. The grease fitting was beat in on all of them for some reason, so I spent a couple dollars at the hardware store for those. So far they are holding up fine. Unreal price. I couldn't buy bearings and seals for that money.

I absolutely love my 725. Has 300 hours on it. I wipe it down and blow it out after every use. Unfortunately I'm mountainside and this does not do well on hills. It will go DOWN a 100% grade but it can't pull itself up anything greater that 15-18 degrees. I have to raise the deck (and hold it .. which is REAL annoying), travel up.. then swing, drop and mow. Im gonna hate myself for selling it. Glad yours works for you

No mountains here but I do sometimes mow steep ravines, ditches, and along the banks of ponds and creeks. Often it did want to spin the drives going up the steep grades unless I lifted the deck.
In 2013 I replaced the drive tires with a set of Carliisle All Trail tires. (model 510043)
Now it does much better mowing uphill only requiring me to turn the weight transfer knob to add a little more weight to the drives. Also does much better mowing side slopes.

@@jeepcollector91 interesting. I thought about getting an aggressive tire set. Was looking at Stens and Carlisle at101 but didn't want to tear the hell out of the perimeter of the property. Thanks for the reply though. I didn't know how successful an aggressive tire would be. Might consider it now
Edit. I also did look that the all trail Tires. I had them on an old Arctic cat. I actually found them to have a perfect balance of turf saving and traction

Jeep, I picked up a 2014 F725 the other day. It has 474 hours on it's a one owner machine, looks about new and always serviced at a dealer. My first impressions are very good on the machine itself are good. I test mowed it on my current yard which is not what I bought it for....but the deck sure likes to bounce around and everything is tight under there.

Are the large rollers at the front and rear of the deck spinning freely? Is the gauge wheel adjusted for the level you have the deck set at?

I am going to look at a used one today. It is a 2000 or 2002 model, the guy wasn't sure, but it looks exactly like yours. He wants $800.00 for it. I think this might be a good deal. Every review I see on line is positive.

I love the F725 but I would rather have the F735 Diesel version. The 54" deck makes quick work of my 1 acre yard. I can still get the 54" deck through a 48" gate by getting the left side of the deck in first then pivoting it around the post and then drive straight in. I just love the front mower.
As for the '91 YJ, I was getting started on installing a Rubicon Express 2.5" lift. Thats why the front was on a jack. Will be installing new axles soon.

Go figure.....working on a Jeep! I want to find a mower like yours, right now running a F510 with the 38" deck. Love the front mount mowers. They make mowing so much easier. Love your rig too. Typical YJ though.....always something to fix up front. Had to rebuild both sides of the frame on mine. Made it a little easier after the 4" Rough Country lift was installed. Great video!

how many hours would this mower last?

    • @jeepcollector91
      @jeepcollector91  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

All depends on how well it is taken care of.
Highest hours I've seen one at was over 4,000 hours.
      It was very well maintained.
Mine is still under 1,000 hrs.

@@jeepcollector91 There's one on TH-cam with 12,000+ and still cutting. I just got one myself, needs a gearbox for the deck. The seat latch is jammed so I'm on here looking at the F725.
