  • Dear Wanderer! Welcome!
in this video I made Doors of Durin, the West-Gate of Moria from Lord Of The Rings in honor to J.R.R Tolkien!

Will walk you through from step one to the finished project! As I have used heavy duty tools, please always wear safety gear!
Also please let me give a massive Thank you to my dear friend Eva-Jane Gaffney for the brilliant performance on the poem!
    / evajanegaffney
Which was written by my other dear Friend Paul Alwright! Let me share it with you:
"Beneath the roots of mountains tall
Where nameless things abound and crawl
Where dungeons creak and caverns sigh
And stars forsake the stony sky
How strange it was to be disturbed
From slumber by those stunted curs
The din of smiths, the drunken roars
The ring of picks on precious ores
Alas! In lust for precious things
They drew too close to my domain
As pale as bone their faces grew
For sleep to me is precious too
And now their hollow-halls are hushed
    ...
    Alone again and undeterred
I'll sleep until I'm next bestirred..."
    Paul Alwright
Without them this project would not have that soul!
And thanks to all of you for watching!
If you will have any questions please do not hesitate to share with me, will try to help you with my best knowledge.
Please bare in mind, that these videos are fully just for entertain you all! I am pretty sure that there is a lot more informed and educated people out there who would know much more than me about this subject ;)
    Kind regards
    Attila Csintalan

What a delight it is to watch each one of your videos ! Thanks for giving us, the wanderers, the chance to watch your imagination at work, Attila.
I read a lot of fantasy and this week I decided to return to the classic of all fantasy classics, The Lord of the Rings. I'm reading 'The Fellowship of the Ring' at the moment.

This was so beautiful. I watched your Japanese greenhouse video and I was stunned, and felt like that was a work of art. And then I see this and know you are incredibly versatile in your artwork. You are a wonderful analog to Tolkein himself, who was adept at language, poetry, pen and ink artwork and of course storytelling itself. This is an incredible dedication to his work by another multi-talented creator!

im wandered here because i am curious about the lore behind these two trees, beyond the obvious given in the book itself.
    what does holly signify?
    what are its attributes?
    how does it grow?
    stuff like that.
i know that Tolkien did not mince words or motives, especially when it came to individual trees described at length.
    any ideas?
    pressing play now.

    • @FangornBonsai
      @FangornBonsai  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

My best knowledge about it is that the holly trees symbolize the ancient friendship between the Elves and the Dwarves. The Doors of Durin were crafted by both the Elves of Eregion (Hollin) and the Dwarves of Moria, underlining the cooperation and goodwill that once existed between these two races. The holly, a symbol associated with the Elves of Eregion, marks this friendship.
