This feature was OEM on Mercury Cougar and other Ford products back in the 1970s. The story was that some bureaucrat got his knickers in a twist and outlawed it. Looking back I would believe some Ford bean counter vetoed it to save a buck ninety eight on production cost.

I primed and powder coated my housings for protection. Then after all the work I realized probably wouldn’t have it in the weather much. Oh well glad I did it. Thanks for the look at the install process.

Any extra protection is a good thing and probably looks a lot better.

Thank you, I bought the same type tailight for my 65 mustang and couldn't figure out what the yellow wire was for. Great video and nice ride

The red lens is washed-out with white LED, they should manufacture with red LED bulbs.

Hi, I have this kit for my 67 mustang.. the lights are different but mine comes with a yellow wire .. what is that for ? I know you mentioned it but didn't understand shouldn't the brake lights go on solid when applied?

I didn’t use the yellow wire. Without it the brake lights will light up sequentially one time and then stay solid. If you don’t want the brakes to light up sequentially you need to use the yellow wire. I believe the yellow wire needs to be spliced into the brake light wire but since I didn’t want mine to operate conventionally I didn’t investigate it any further. Nor did I want to splice into my wiring. Good luck with your install.

@@dingoschannel3228 Did you use one of those "LED flashers"? They make flashers to plug in under your dash for when you switch to LED lights. I wonder if those would slow your blinkers down to not give other drivers seizures.

@@giantpune no, I did not install anything with the lights.
