And then Ririka and Raden who are still "the new girls" actually follow through and went to visit Austria. It must feel really special for her, specially since she always says that she gets a bit deppressed during winter.
Yeah, Kiara is such a lovely girl, so full of love - and she finally gets appreciated, that's all this girl wants it feels like often, is to be appreciated and loved for her hard work
As somebody who really enjoyed watching the reaction of a visiting friend seeing Niagara Falls and other Canadian stuff for the first time, I bet she really enjoyed Raden nerding out over Austrian architecture and art too. There's that sense of, I guess I'd call it relief, where you think "Oh nice, they're actually enjoying their trip here!"
Agreed it can be very disheartening to hear that people say they want to come, by really they're just being polite and say stuff like that, and in the moment they're probably thinking it would be nice. But it is such a low priority thing it never happens
the EN's made the same promise and only Nerissa has come, Calli stopped by once but was in UK for a wedding and work otherwise Rissa would be the only one that's come. In her stream she said something along the lines of “They spend hours flying across continents to spend just short 3 days here,” Kiara flew all over the globe this year and had traveling fatigue, she knows how tiring it must be not to mention only a few who accepted her invitation throughout years in Hololive really come visit her, yeah, she must appreciate them a whole lot.
I can really understand the feeling of being friendly with people but never getting a follow up. It never makes you hate the person but you kinda just start self-internalizing a lot of negative feelings and wondering why nobody has ever followed up. I'm glad the girls were able to give Kiara a chance here as her home country seems like a very special place she wanted to share with other members.
I mean, it's understandable - most people never travel that far from their home country, particularly if they don't even speak a foreign language - the prospect of language barrier is just too imposing, and travelling halfway across the globe is also daunting. Having the desire to see the world is natural, as is having the desire to see your friends, but the motive force to actually travel is rare. Raden had the drive to see Austria, and Ririka was already quite the world traveller. It's a no-brainer who would have gone on the trip. I could see Calli doing it too, and maybe Sui-chan, but that's about it.

Kiara struggles with a lot of bad internalized thoughts sadly how many times has she said she was surprised other memebers like her? That gets built on top of with people not following through it gets painful, Like in the last Myth stream you can see the extra pain on kiara when Calli makes the empty promise that Myth would visit her as a group. She knows that will never happen. Sad fact is up to this year she had more none holo guest than holo ones.
the holomembers always act like they are gonna do all of these collabs and stuff. the positive outlook is kind of their brand. everyone knows that only a fraction of those on stream "promises" will happen.
A lot of casual fans take the promises at face value, which puts some of the girls under pressure. You can see it in lots of clips comment sections and under collab streams. Regular watchers are aware that schedule and reality don't line up most of the time.
"Kiara asked us to go to a place with her" could basically only be either something like "this is my favorite café, let's go right now" or the Maldives.
No wonder Kiara has prepared everything for them to make their trip perfect. First of all, she's quite responsible person who host guests in her homeland. Secondly, she's really damn pleased that someone finally came to her and didn't break their promise. And that emotion is genuine - she's been promised she'll be visited so many times that she almost can't believe it, even says it outright, and when it finally happens, it's true happiness for our bright phoenix And they picked a great time to visit Austria - I'm sure it's bloody beautiful there at Christmas
the number of failed promises has gotten to be heavy on her, anytime you here a member suggest it you can hear Kiara get really sad. It's to the point she complains and trys to talk them out of it rather than have yet an other empty promise. A good example is for even non-holos you can find a clip when she fist colabed with Nina from niji, and how happy Kiara was a few months later when Nina visited. These promises put a pressure on Kiara as any time she collabs with those people casual fans bug her if that member has visited and than ask why not, that's not great for your mental health over time.
Firstly, thanks for the Japanese lesson at the end. I always wondered what that word meant since I hear it being said often by the JP members. Secondly, in regards to the story, I'm really glad to hear they all had fun with the trip to Austria. Kiara doesn't get a lot of visitors from Hololive coming in to see her in her own country aside from Calli, Reine and Nerissa. So it's nice to hear that she was overwhelmed by their excitement being there thanks to her planning the entire tour.
Plus for Calli and Reine, they were only there for like a day as a stopover on a larger European tour (Reine was traveling with her Mom, IIRC). Nerissa was the only one who was there specifically for Austria.
calli's visit was also over 2 years ago at this point. Nerissa makes up half the holos to visit and was the only visitor till now that came for the sake of meeting Kiara not just do to convenience. That and thankfully now Raden and Ririka are added to that group of visiting to see Kiara. Before that the only person to visit for the sake of it was the former Niji liver Nina.
Its a great video with the japanese lessons being a welcome addition. I really hope Kiara can have more members over, if ERB and Cecillia are still in Europe maybe the three of them could try and hang out sometimes.
Cecilia lives in Germany and she in Austria, either two could meet for a vacation. I just used Google maps distance feature and the longest distance is about 600 - 700 miles. So either one could drive, casually, to the other's place within a day or two, to have a vacation, and that goes for Erb, who probably lives near London given her accent, she'd need an extra day of driving at the most unless she lives near Scotland, then add a day, but these 3 could easily meet if they decided on a trip
It would be nice but I would lower my expectations on that happening out side of Japan. Kiara has actively avoided the topic of EU meet ups. Case in point she just had a collab vid in the advent calendar with Raora, where Raora mentions she will be home(Italy) for the holidays. Kiara didn't hint at the idea of meeting up. Kiara is tired of fan pressure for these types of collabs, she would love for them to happen but things rarely line up that way. IMO
Just like from Nerissa before, Kiara is really getting deserved love and respect. She really is the heart and soul of EN and without a doubt their unofficial leader
