    Great video really informative. But I have two questions, can't I shop online with an ATM card( not credit card)? Second, how do I get a proof of address if I'm living in a university dorm?

      No you cannot use the ATM card for online shopping. It will not work. As for the proof, then it would be very difficult. Do you have any from agreement with your uni ?

    Can you please do a video on Turkish taxation ? I want to open a offshore bank account in Turkey ( won’t be living there however do have a residence permit which will be used for opening the bank account). The account will only be used for transferring money from my homeland to the bank account in Turkey and checking account ( mostly online shopping). Do I have to pay tax for transferring the money into the Turkish bank account? If yes, how much is the tax percentage ?

    Thanks a lot for sharing the information. I am non resident and plan to open a bank account in turkey while visiting as a tourist. Any idea if the utility bill has to be in English? Or translated at a certified translator. I am coming from Germany.

    • @TurkeyPropertyBeys
      @TurkeyPropertyBeys  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mine was in Arabic and I presented my Arabic ID that showed my name in english and Arabic and they accepted it. If your bills have the same name as your passport then you would not need it translated or certified, I guess. But if you don't want to take a chance then just translate it for peace of mind.

    Not every branch will open an account for a foreigner. In what branch did you open an account?

    • @TurkeyPropertyBeys

      Maybe you are right. But because I saw some many ATMs that you can buy a real gold in that bank I assumed it was a real Gold. The bank I am referring to is KuveytTurk Bank and I opened it in the Mall of Istanbul Branch.

    What about foreigners who want to buy property in turkey. What's the easiest way to create a bank account in turkey? How will it be?

    • @TurkeyPropertyBeys
      @TurkeyPropertyBeys  ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want to open a bank account in Turkey without being here then the only way is to give a Power of Attorney to a person in Turkey with Turkish ID to do that for you.
      If you are here already then it depends if you have a residency permit or not. If you don't and you just want to buy a property then I can recommend 2 banks: KuveytTurk Bank or AlBaraka Bank. You will need you passport and any utility bills on your name (gas, electric, water, Internet or mobile bill). But you should be very confidence and persuasive and tell them that you want to make an investment in Turkey and will be putting a lot of money into your account to buy a property.
      Just whatsapp me on +90 552 313 7483 and I will share all other information with you.
      Otherwise my comment will become huge! LOL.

    Thank you for this valuable information. I have been doing research and have learned that before you can get utilities you first must get residency and that this can take up to 6 weeks. Is this correct? We will rent before we purchase so we have time to get to know the area. Since it takes so long to be able to get utilities it is advised that we remain in our hotel or air b&b until we get out residency permit.

    • @TurkeyPropertyBeys
      @TurkeyPropertyBeys  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Jenny, Thanks for the comment. I am not sure who told you that but that's not entirely true. Yes some banks ask for residency permit but there are some that don't. If you just need a bank account and you don't need a residency visa at all then you can go to KuveytTurk Bank and they only ask for your passport, Turkish TaxID and utility bills on your name (from your own country, where you came from) and that's it.

    • @TurkeyPropertyBeys

      @TurkeyPropertyBeys  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The utility bill is required to open a bank account in Turkey. If you are coming to Turkey just to live and you don't need a bank account then you don't need to worry about it. To get a residency visa you are not required to have a bank account or have a utility bill in your name.

      If that does not work you can go to Vergi Dairesi (Tax House) located just outside the Metro station called Emniyet Fatih. It is in Fatih area basically. If they tell you that you should do it online just show them any error you are getting (the screenshot) and they will give you one there and then. I hope it helps. Hi, Having followed your recommendation of KuveytTürk and also a recommendation of a friend I went today to open a bank account as a foreign national in Turkey at KuveytTürk Konya. I obtained my Tax ID using the information given in your other video. However, I was disappointed when the clerk informed me he was not able to open an account using the Tax ID. When the Tax ID is fed into the bank's system all your details (address, mother's name, father's name etc.) should automatically be filled in. In my case, many of the details were missing, some were not, for example 'Father's name' had been automatically filled whereas 'Mother's name' was missing, yet all the details are on the Tax ID form. I obtained the Tax ID on Monday and today is Wednesday. Is there an explanation for this, is there a lag time?
    Many thanks in advance.

      I am sorry to hear about your bad experience. It is strange that half of the info was saved and the half was not saved. So they could not open the bank account for you at the end? What did they tell you to do at the end? Most probably you will need to go to Tax House (Vergi Dairesi) in Konya and get it updated from there, after explaining your situation.

      @@TurkeyPropertyBeys KuveytTürk initially asked for a Foreigner Identification Number which I didn't have. They said they would try opening an account using my Tax ID. This, as previously discussed, failed, after which they suggested I try one of the government banks.
      The next day I went to the Il Göç Idaresi and managed to obtain (although a lot of convincing was needed) a Foreigner Identification Number. I returned to KuveytTürk, however, they were once again unable to open an account; they required a Turkish address; I live in the UK.
      Today, Halk bank requested I present a work permit and informed me the only they could open an account for a foreigner was by communication with an employer who would facilitate in the opening of an account. Yapı Kredi require managerial approval before a foreigner may open an account. They directed me to one of the Government banks.
      The government banks are recommending I visit the private banks and the private government. 😁
      I am in Istanbul for a few days next week. Which KuveytTürk branch did you use to open your account, I will give them a try?

      It is needed fo sure as I personally experienced it myself and they did ask for it and they said they won't be able to do it without it. That was Kuveyt Turk Bank.

    You are giving wrong information here. I did visit 3 banks (Ziraat, Iş and Garanti) here in Izmir to open an account. They all asked for an address in Turkey. I had my US Passport, Turkish Tax Id number and 3 copies of my US home utility bills with me. They did not even look at those, when they heard I don't have an address in Turkey. Please, stop spreading wrong information. Thanks.

      Hello Reza. Thank you for your message. I am sorry to hear about your bad experience with mentioned banks. I am not giving any wrong information at all and just shared my personal experience. with opening a bank account in Istanbul with KuveytTurk bank. And it is not just me who opened the same way with the same information. There are plenty of foreigner friends and clients I know who did in the same fashion and got their banks accounts opened. Maybe it works differently in Izmir and/or with those 3 banks you mentioned (maybe their requirement consists of all documents mentioned plus tenancy contract). Or maybe you were unlucky with the person who served you that day. Whatever it is it wasn't so nice of you to accuse me of spreading the wrong information. How would I benefit from it?
      Anyway, all the best and I hope you will eventually open your bank account in Izmir. If you can't then please feel free to come to Istanbul, go to the Mall of Istanbul branch of KuveytTurk Bank (this is where I opened mine without any problem talking to an English speaking person) and hopefully you will be fine.

      I thik you should say how to open a KuveitTurkey bank account in the big mall of Istanbul branch for people who are from Kuveit with a Kuveit passport. Otherwise, the title of your video and the content of your video is misinformation.

      @@Reza16888 LOL. It is not for Kuwaitis. It is for anyone in Turkey. Just try it. Just the name has the word Kuvait. :-) Just ask any Turk if you like.

      The fact that you use your Kuveiti passport and open up an account in a KuveitTurkey bank means as if a Kuveiti citizen opened a bank account in a Kuveit bank that has a branch in Istanbul. Again, you say ask any Turks. Of course, a Turk with a Turkish Kimlik can open an account in a KuveitTurkey bank account. The name says it all... KuveitTurkey. That means only Kuveiti people and Turkish people. Because, their Ids are tied to an address either in Kuveit or Turkey. For example, a tourist from the USA who is staying at a hotel for just a few weeks cannot open a bank account in any banks in Turkey, including the KuveitTurkey bank. Have you seen a tourist from any other country open a bank account in KuveitTurkey bank in Turkey?
      Again, your video is misleading and misinformational. You might want to be a little more exact and clear.
