hi, i really loved this video and im interested in studying something tourism related, so if you dont mind me asking, what did you study to become a tourguide, or are there specific studies you need to do in order to become one?
I did a diploma of business & tourism, but to be honest a qualification won’t get you a job in tour guiding! The most important thing is your people skills & passion for the job. However I still enjoyed the course itself and found it valuable 😊
I'm just graduated and I'm opting to do this Job. And this was motivation. Any tips to give a young boy who's bout to venture into this tour guide life
It depends on the tour guiding job! For the role I had, no degree/certificate was necessary. In this industry people skills are the most important thing 😊
@@EmilyClaireDaly Is it? well, I am a tour guide, (a young TG) and I have been told I had to read a lot, then I can be hired by the companies, that was what an ADVICE to the point I thought I had to go to the University because I graduated from an institute. I don´t know yet if tourists really care about history, from what I see, most people over 40 do care, but correct me if I am wrong, young people don´t care too much, so what does matter to become a good tour guide? By the way, what do you mean by people-related books, it is a biography or something related more to people´s behavior subjects? Thank you, Emily, have a wonderful time.
Some tour organisations are based in one country, while others travel to many countries! I'd recommend applying for both types and seeing what happens. However, it also depends what languages you can speak. :)

It really depends on where you're working. I was in Europe and used my common sense, so I never felt super unsafe. :)

It depends what company you work for! From my experience, younger audiences still love learning about history if you are engaging and keep it short.
