    Facebook tracking you isn't the main issue, people just don't want to directly or indirectly fund Facebook through more access to their lives. I'm happy that people are caring about privacy and not just saying "well, you're being tracked anyway". It's like saying you wouldn't stop and pick up litter because, "other people are going to do it". It's not about whether or not change happens immediately when YOU do something, it's about an idea that people support.

      100% agree. I don't use facebook that often. I checked my usage last week and it said 1 minute. I also don't take pictures with my facebook app. If you take pictures with these glasses I bet facebook can see them. Also I wonder if it posts the picture to your account right away without asking? Google is scary enough, but facebook I'm scared of more. If you get their VR goggles you need a facebook account, and you need one with these which is just trusting facebook to much. They seem decent, but unnecessary given what they offer. Most people have a phone AND earbuds, why buy something that does everything these do but worse. It's not like people don't already have their phone and earbuds with them....cool premise but more a novelty gadget than anything else. Couldn't care less about the "privacy" factor, nothing interesting I do requires privacy, but the fact it's locked (like the Oculus) to Facebook is another point against.

    These glasses are probably not going to improve much over time because the problems they have are physical, not digital. The poor sound quality for the music player. That is a physical limitation. No amount of more transistors is going to fix it. The optics will NEVER get better. Again, it is a physical limitation. Price goes up astronomically the more work you do to a glass lens. The touch area might get better, but probably not because it's more a YOU problem with your big old mitts and the fact that you cannot see your glasses (the temples) when they are on your head.

    • @RagingBadger68
      @RagingBadger68 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The sound quality isn’t a physical limitation, there are plenty of options to improve the EQ variations, the issue comes from the fact that the technology required tends to be rather sensitive or expensive.
      You can buy some seriously cheap and small IEMs with impressive audio quality, but theres a difference between an in ear speaker and an over ear speaker, but the technology is similar.

    • @tarstarkusz
      @tarstarkusz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RagingBadger68 The problem is the speakers and how far they are from your ears. That cannot be fixed. They are the size of bud-drivers and an inch away from your ear. That cannot be solved. It is a PHYSICAL limitation. You are limited by the size of the temple of the glasses (you are limited to a driver that will fit inside the temples, which are probably a mm thick by 3 or 4mm high. ). They can't go in your ear unless it has wires hanging off of it to fit in your ear.

      It’s a sound limitation that is also found in open back headphones which tend to have less bass (sometimes this is a preference) but if I was jogging or walking near traffic I would like the music being secondary to my surroundings for safety. I have good noise canceling options but I never use them when I’m near traffic.

    I bought these glasses and so far I have been happy with them.
    I only use them to take video clips whereby I wouldn't normally have done so.
    They've been great to make short story videos whilst out and about in the city or cycling with my wife.
    The 30 second limitation is annoying, but it is amazing how you can make great montages which are ideal for sharing with friends.
    Overall they are not going to compete with something like a DJI Pocket, but if you know what you are buying then they are worth the money.

    I own a pair. I thought they seemed cool for holiday trips and stuff but I was on the fence. I went to the shop and the guy showed me some footage of his so I bought some and I love them they’re so convenient easy to use you’ve got your glasses on all the time when you’re outside so the camera is always there. the footage is pretty good personally I think definitely worth the money.

    I'd love to see something like this available in multiple frame styles (including ones where buttons are on the other side for us south-paws), with a HUD, and with an open-source OS (especially not linked to Facebook, Google, Apple, or Microsoft). It's also be great if they had mechanical buttons instead of the touch pad.
    Either way I'm glad that this exists but it's certainly not for me.

    They seem like a fun gadget 😎
    but not for $300. .... not having decent sound, or phone calls cut off music 🎶 ... ☝🏼accidentally videoing, or turning on music, ... and I can easily see a ooops, I set my sunglasses 🕶 down & forgot them 😯 (happens to many)
    basically incognito videoing is all I think they’re good for (I don’t secret video, many would 😉
    I dumped FB yrs ago, this is more control & invasive than the norm, they’d see ALL ..😶...

    looking at all these features. there are these points I found out:-
    -Take the glasses off by the neck.
    -There should be symbols of the brand at the neck or very visible positions.
    -I believe short tap video was for emergency situations or crime occuring near you.
    - they should only use touchscreen for mobile everything else just use buttons .

    I really love the ridiculous ridiculing of obvious features... "There's no bass" or "the touch controls are too sensitive" or "its taking a while to get used to"
    Thats all crazy obvious. Not much bass because they're sun glasses. Next.
    Touch controls are supposed to be sensitive, if they weren't, people would be complaining about that too. Next.
    Yes, smart glasses take a while to get used to. Next.
    I've also seen people complain about the limit of recording... yall realize these are literal sun glasses, right? They're not meant to hold super beefy batteries to record for minutes and minutes.

    Photos not very sharp. Exposure was meh, very limited dynamic range. Considering how poorly the shadows were exposed I’m guessing low light performance sucks - but you wouldn’t be wearing sunglasses in low light situations, so maybe it’s unfair to call them out on that.
    So it pretty much sucks as a camera. But I like the ability to take phone calls with good audio so I can talk clearly with all the extended car warranty salespeople.

    It wouldn't take long to accidentally post something you don't want to on Facebook. Like using public toilets😒 Same way I wouldn't want anyone wearing or bringing these in my house. Yes there's smaller hidden cameras to worry about, but I'm not a fan of these.
