I used to get bullied in school when I was a child in New York,for being Puerto Rican. This movie gave me a sense of pride that got me through it. Over the years, I hit the gym and my family began to vacation there. It was then that I discovered how amazing and fun our culture was, how beautiful our women were and how strong we were as people who overcome all types of asversity. I went on the earn 3 code degrees and a successdul career in business and with inco.e properties, all set to.retire in 10 years when I'm 62 in Puerto.Rico, God wiling to.finish my life with the annual Christmas parties, great climate in paradise. I have always been proud to be Puerto Rican but never more than right now, with the recent "Despacito" song which I'm sure did for some young Puerto Ricans what "Puerto Rico the song" did for me. 🇵🇷 forever
People have always been jealous of the Puerto Ricans.
And why is that?

I saw hin in TV as a kid. The movie should been a hit like Dirty Dancing. But he was a flop. The music is great. The story is bad. Last week they danced Salsa to the song "Margarita" in "Let´s Dance" the german version of "Dancing With The Stars".
This Movie was my Inspiration for beginning to Dance
Now iam 34 years old and one of the Best Salsa Dancer in Nederland and Germany !

So much FUN!!!! healthy fun no drugs, no alcohol,we didnt need to get high on anything to have fun, the music give us enough adrenaline to have great time!!!!!!!

When I came to this country in 1990, my grandfather who lived in NY most of his adult life loved this movie. He would play it so much that I begged him to watch it again and again because I grew up listening to salsa. I was only 6 when I came. I love salsa, always have it's in my blood. Funny part is that I never dated a PR woman, fast forward till this day, I ended up with a great Puerto Rican woman. 😍 the love of Salsa!

My big sis passed away last year unexpectedly , we grew up watching this movie many many times , even down to a year before i lost her , it was our film we called it , not sure i will ever he able to ever watch it again now without her 😢 but i will treasure the days we sat and watched it together ❤❤❤❤❤

Classic Puertorican musical out of this world.
Peliculón de culto para los salsomanos como yo. Viva la salsa y Puerto Rico, grande Draco Rossa. Desde Ayacucho Perú. Yo sólo tenía 10 años cuando la vi en su estreno, claro que las escenas calientes me tapaba los ojos. Great film about love, pasion for dancing and Wilkins left greats hits for ever.

I may be black but this video was a favorite of mine, The culture, the music, the excitement is so rich in this film, The critics hated it but it doesn't matter I love it !!! I don't usually like home-made videos but this one awesome! Wonderful and nostalgic. I was a young child but I remember my syster learning every single dance step from this move s she could adapt it to the brazilian lambada which is in a lot of ways very similar to salsa.

No hay como entender el tiempo. En 1988, con 19 años, Robby era un pollote y bailarín espectacular. Wilkins con sus 35 se veía raro, para nada me gustaba y con ese pelo menos. Y las vueltas que da la vida: a los 55, encuentro horripilante a Robby y al Wilkins con 71 y ese pelito, canosito, corto…comible ❤ Bello!
