The wholesomeness of Pats' segment was really nice to watch. I love not only that he is humble, but also that he has a lot of kind words for other artists and people in the industry that really put everything into it. It's nice to see that there are people around that get inspiration from others and not blind competition or even hate. Thank you.

The Ibanez basses with the Fishmans is interesting because I hope that from the next NAMM they offer those in their SR and BTB products. I started using those fucking unbendable Flow picks and my attack and picking accuracy is fkn SURGICAL but, if im not playing an aggressively downpicked goddamn caveman slam/trem pick riff, the picks just SLICE into my strings and just make the most awful noise. so bad it'll sound like someone is scratching fucking turntables. The picks feel so damn good though man. I will literally get pissed mid-song sometimes and switch picks to literally ANYTHING else and my picking speed and technique drop so bad its apparent within seconds. So I always end up going back to them.

But if you were going with maple top/neck and mahogany body with hot pickups installed with reverse headstock in a MIJ built high end Ibanez...well, I really liked the RGR5227 they came out with this year - if you're going to replace the pickups, you can get a very similar MIK/MII with the standard Fusion set on it. I guess I'd upgrade to teh hipshot floating trem I've seen a lot of lately, they seem beefy. Otherwise, you already have coil tap and three pos switch, just put a drag knob on the tone and a speed knob on the volume and you'd be golden with something like a Ibanez custom shop but at off the shelf prices and good availability.

Any touring artist who knows what they’re doing, regardless of string company, changes their strings every 2-5 days. By that time, the strings have fully broken in and have lost a lot of their high end harmonics, so you throw a new set on to maintain optimum tone.

Am I an idiot? For some reason I thought Will Putney was in this band lol, did he record them then or am I just loosing brain cells at an accelerated rate?

Interesting that he uses 25.5 inch 7 strings. Personally I cant stand those even for drop A, let alone drop G.

Sean Griffey I’m not a fan of playing baritone guitars either along with a lot of people. The additional tension going to a 26.5 is highly exaggerated as well.

Sean Griffey scale length is a myth.

@@MK4vDubbin Not being into playing baritones is totally fair. I used to have a standard scale 7 but I just didn't vibe with it, I kept putting thicker and thicker strings on it, and once I got my 26.5 inch one, I put relatively lighter strings on it and the strings felt way better. It's all subjective

@@IamTimHowley I would respectfully disagree. Admittedly my experience is mostly limited to what I have bought, but to me, longer scale lengths feel better for lower tunings.

@@seangriffey8669 i agree with this lol ive played a 25.5 7 string and the low B felt sooooooo floppy. I bought a schecter KM-7 with a 26.5 scale and there is a huge difference, no floppy strings unless I tune down to F# but then i just put a .74 gauge string on

I've seen these guys 6 times since back in the days on Nate Johnson. They always put on a good show. I'm so sad the last 2 albums have group singing on every song. I miss the Hellbound and Absolute Hope Absolute Hell sound. I tried to force myself to like it but I hate group vocals.

MrMisterock it’s for lower tunings, you can’t get that low with a 6. I have decently small hands and I play a 7. 9 strings also do exist, the band glasscloud uses them
