      I've been using Zenni for years since a fellow nurse told me about them. All my pairs are from there. I love them till this day. They are pretty durable since they have lasted me a long time since my eye exam prescription hasn't changed in the last 10 years according to my eye doctor. 😅

    Glasses can definitely be expensive, even with insurance. I've actually bought glasses thru Walmart and/or Costco throughout the years and are pretty nice; but this is definitely another way to purchase glasses, excellent prices and very neat how computer technology is used to help you in selecting the perfect glasses to your face shape, etc. Christy, I give you credit and a huge thumbs up 👍 (I'm suppose to wear bifocals but I couldn't wear them as I had such difficulties getting use to them in regards to adjusting with my near/far vision; I gave up and ended up getting a pair of glasses for reading and a pair in my glove compartment for driving). Anyways, I've seen commercials on TV and was curious about how this worked. Thanks for the review, much appreciated! Have a great day friends! ❤ Merri :)

      Absolutely. Yeah, before started using Zenni, we used to buy Joel and Michael's glasses from Walmart. They were nice and definitely cheaper than other optometry stores. Awww, thank you. It was rough for a few weeks. I was like, "What are wrong with these glasses, Joel?" And he would tell me that I would get used to it. I eventually did. lol. Thanks for watching. We really appreciate it. 😍

    Great Video, I have bought lots of glasses over the years from Zenni and they do a great job at making prescription glasses for accuracy. If you decide to buy progressives again they have the "Premium Progressive lens" that are better for seeing more area of the lense with less distortions. My wife wants new glasses because she had a nasty fall and damaged her Zenni glasses slightly but are still usable so her new prescription will have the Premium Progressive lenses.
    Buy Zenni glasses when they have those great sales and save but if you have insurance it might not matter. Yaqi has lenses that are thinner like 1.7 and up and those are very nice also.
    Have a great day!

    I’m going to try this from here on out as I usually do an in store glasses, but I need to save money! Nice outcome, walkthrough and the glasses look great! I have transitions and they darken immediately outside, I don’t think it should have to be a waiting period. I wear progressives as my eyesight is horrible on top of glaucoma. I pay at least $400 each time for glasses, transitions, blue block and shaving the lenses as thin as possible. I will look into Zenni though based on your review!

    • @TheLongRunwithJoelandChristy
      @TheLongRunwithJoelandChristy  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Ohhh yeah? The transition was the only part that I wasn’t sure about. Joel has never ordered transitions so I didn’t have a basis on how much time it should take. Though 1 minute might be an exaggeration. We should time it to see how long it would actually take to transition. I still think I might prefer contacts with some cheapo sunglasses. That way I don’t have to worry about losing my glasses in the theme parks or when traveling. 👍
      Thanks for watching. 🥰

      Thank you, Angel. Oh, I hate that for you. Have you tried to buy them from somewhere like a Walmart Vision Center? We used to get Joel and our son Michael's glasses there instead of the optometrist and it was usually cheaper at least there.

  • @CelineFerocious
    @CelineFerocious ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I’ve purchased them online from firmoo in the past. I don’t have transition lenses or bifocals, I’m just nearsighted. I didn’t mind the adjustment to glasses but sometimes looking through glasses in general throws me off until I’m used to it lol

    • @TheLongRunwithJoelandChristy
      @TheLongRunwithJoelandChristy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      lol. That's cool. I don't think I've ever heard of firmoo before. Yeah, the bifocals are hard to get used to, especially progressives. Because at the top of the lenses is where I have to look to see far off things and the bottom to see things near me. It progresses from one to the other as you are looking down. Suffice it to say that walking, especially outside, was an issue. And then seeing things to the right or left was also a problem, so I would get sick trying to edit videos on my laptop. My brain finally figured it though. lol

    I have.purchased 3 frames.from.zenni. my prescription is in the 8's and 9's. Very satisfied with purchase and vision. Went to walmart and optometris looked at my lens and commented on qaulity and then asked me if they were Zenni and I said yes. She then told me the labs here cannot make high index lenses on same level as Zenni. Walmart can do 1.6 ?or something were zenni does 1.8. Im just using round about numbers but point is I have thick lenses so I need the most high index lenses i can get.

    Does Zenni still include the screwdriver with extra screws for repair in the package? Your glasses look great on you, good pick. The transitions taking a minute to lighten/darken bothered me too, as I'm very glare & bright light sensitive, and that minute is a long one for me. I also need sunglasses much darker than Transitions seems to go.
    Also, how long did it take to get your glasses, and did they come from China directly, or their California lab?

    • @TheLongRunwithJoelandChristy
      @TheLongRunwithJoelandChristy  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      To my knowledge, I didn’t see any extra screws or a screwdriver in the pack. Christy had the same issue with the transition lenses.
      As far as shipping goes, it took about 6 days from placing the order until we received them. Also, looks like they were made in China.

    Lol on your birthdate. I am more scared to buy on line. I think I won’t be able to have them adjusted, they won’t get delivered, etc. I have gotten my last few pairs at Costco for like $130-$150. I am practically blind without my glasses so I feel the need to have easier access to people who can fix them.
    My ophthalmologist’s practice has an optical store but they are super expensive and the employees are rather snotty. Truth is truth. My doctor did tell me though that Walmart sells sunglasses that fit over your glasses that I use outside. I have purchased several pairs of those, none have ever broken, they have a few different sizes, styles and tints. Though not every Walmart sells them anymore. I think they might have them at Sams also. They are only like $20 bucks a pair.
    Your glasses are really cute though. I am glad it went well for you.

    • @TheLongRunwithJoelandChristy
      @TheLongRunwithJoelandChristy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ahhh, yeah, we have not had to get any adjustments from those glasses. Yes, back before we tried Zenni, we generally purchased Joel and Michael's glasses from the Walmart Optometry store. The frames were a lot cheaper than other optometry stores.
      The reason why I wanted either the transition lenses (or contacts to wear with my cheapo sunglasses) was just because I have found that especially when we go out and about that I didn't like taking the glasses on and off every time that I went in a building. That's what I didn't like about the readers. I would take them in case I needed to read something, but couldn't walk with them on. So sometimes, I would set down somewhere and forget them. Or I would break them. So I wanted something that I could see whether I was walking outside or trying to read something.
      These are fine. I just wish they would transition faster. I will probably try contacts next time, since our insurance credit will cover $200 of the price for the contacts.
      Thank you. I appreciate that. 😍
