- We’ve got a beautiful bouquet of lilies for you - Carolina Lilies! Kimberly shows you how to make the classic quilt block, the Carolina Lily. The Carolina Lily quilt block has many different variations, and today we’ll show how to make a version that is mostly pieced with a touch of applique for the stems. Kimberly picked one of her favorite fabric lines this season, the At Home Collection by Bonnie and Camille of Moda Fabrics, to stitch up her quilt with, but you can pick any fabric you like for this floral block!
Quilt kit includes the Carolina Lily Quilt Pattern and At Home fabrics by Bonnie & Camille for the 44.5" x 44.5" quilt top and binding.

Have always liked this block. What would be helpful would be to have a template for the stems and use a light box to consistently lay out the blocks if making more than one. Thanks for a beautiful block tutorial. 😊

How timely...I just purchased the 1/2 bias tape tool from Fat Quarter Shop, and I have Carolina Lily on my planning list for new projects I've wanted to start! Now, can I wait until the "Redwork Gatherings" fat quarter bundle is available?
I love this block, its such a classic!! The only thing i think I might do differently, is make an inverted V where the main stem meets the center flower, so it looks like it is attached instead of coming to a point, I'm not quite sure how it would work out though since the strip is only an inch. Probably would have to do some practicing first and it might not work at all..Whats your thought Kimberly?
Hello Ginmars1! We recommend cutting the bias strips a few inches longer so there’s more to work with and yes definitely practicing before sewing it down. The 1” bias strips are pretty flexible, just go slow and iron.

Hello Wanda! Kimberly has her quilts quilted by a longarm quilter. They typically use a pantograph, unless it is a custom design in which they will use templates to create the quilting designs.
