I am 78 years old and my last bone scan showed I had bones of a 40 year old. How could this be. I was a flight attendant for over 35 years lifting and pulling heavy equipment. How ever, I always took Norwegian Cod liver oil in the winter . Also I have made my own Kefir and yogurt for years now. Kefir is the best gut medicine. Years ago on a flight into Delhi, India, I asked the head of one of the European Olympic chiefs why their athletes did not get ill prior to competition. She responded by saying she took her athletes two weeks prior and fed them the local yogurt. It’s all about activity and diet.

Unfortunately the statistics show that after age 65 a hip fracture ,even treated with surgery results in death within one year for 25% of people. It is thought to be due to the loss of mobility.Good incentive to work hard in PT if you go to surgery after hip fracture. Note that this still means that 75 percent of people who fracture and go to surgery will survive.Note if you are. Active prior to the call your chances of survival are much better. If you are frail prior to a hip fracture your risks are much higher. People become debilitated very quickly after surgery and bed rest.Mobilization as quickly as possible after surgery is crucial.

Great talk, thank you Bobbie. I have a question - what about oxalates? Many of the vegetables and fruit suggested in the mainstream as being healthy are very high in oxalate, which can cause joint problems and can contribute to calcium deposition in places we don't want it. Oxalates are not only about kidney stones, they have also been found in breast cancer tumours, in joints and elsewhere. Spinach and almonds especially are so oxalate-high that no cooking, soaking, etc methods render them low enough to keep oxalate intake to reasonable levels. Green kale (not black), chard, oranges, chia seeds and gluten are also high and many people ingest huge quantities of these foods in a bid to be healthy. It's a dilemma to know what to do sometimes.

Know that God take care of our health, not food, exercises etc...
Creation has failed because of Adam and Eve. Food, minerals, vitamins, exercise, sunshine etc... are God's creation. Don't work anymore.
Now, redemption from Jesus' work ( he died to save us), works. So have faith and relationship with God first, then eat right and exercise after.

I have been eating all the foods you mentioned (leafy greens, nuts, seeds, fruit and veg in general) for years as well as exercise and my T score -3.1. I was shocked! Doc said the oxylates bind to the calcium and flushes both right out of my body. So every time I have a cheese and swiss omlette with spinach or kale for example - bye bye calcium! Doc recommended I eat red meat as often as possible! Please address the question of oxylates. So much conflicting information. Thank you in advance.

OSTEOPOROSIS is a Greek word not Latin. Do your research.
Comes from the Greek words Osta means bones and the word porosis means full of porous meaning holes. Comes from the ancient Greek, like all other medical terms.

Great presentation! I studied diet long ago for a book that I wrote. Firstly, I’m a WFPB eater. Not a vegan bc that term can indicate someone that will eat fake meats, cheeses and ultra processed foods. They’re technically not animal derived but not always healthful. I’m glad that you mentioned the statistics on dairy consumption and osteoporotic rates. Which clearly demonstrates that milk does not do a body good. In fact the milk/dairy industry are prohibited from marketing their products as healthy. Meat products as well. Luncheon meats are carcinogenic. They’re listed by the WHO to be in the same category as asbestos.
I tightened up my diet recently. I thought that I had too much stomach acid but when I googled my symptoms, low stomach acid came up. Yep, the antacids and ppi’s weren’t helping. I quit sugar, sodas, trans fats and processed foods. Starting taking food enzymes and Betaine hcl. Which is Hydrochloric acid in pill form. My digestion has improved greatly.
It’s all about keeping the body at its ideal ph balance. The body will forego bone integrity to keep calcium in the system. It would rather have holey bones than a screwed up ph balance. So, keeping stomach acid at its optimal level is crucial for proper breakdown of foods. Which in turn optimizes absorption of nutrients. Eating foods that increase acid like milk and meat and sugar, will cause inflammation in the body. Any condition ending with ‘itis’ is an inflammatory response. Diet is the only way to rectify and prevent syndromes like arthritis. Don’t chase the pain with pills while ignoring diet. Hippocrates, the father of medicine said, ‘let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food’. Stave off illnesses thru diet. Prevention is key. And lastly.
I’m triple certified in exercise science. Therefore I work my body to sustain bone density. Just like muscles, bones need the exercise, especially weight bearing moves as well to stay strong.

Very informative. I had breast cancer and under hormone therapy to stop oestrogen. I have osteoporosis despite lots of exercise and taking most of the food u mentioned in the video. Also taking calcium and vitamin d supplement. GP suggested me to take alendronic acid but I don’t want to do that. What shall I do? Thank you.

Slight correction. Estrogen does not build bone, progesterone does it creates osteoblasts. Estrogen slows down the breakdown of bone (osteoclasts) You need both as bone is inconstant change. Menopause, because no egg is released from the ovary, is also a loss of progesterone since that is released every month with ovulation So, women after menopause lack progesterone. They also lack testosterone which builds bones. We see how testosterone helps men keep their bones strong (and helps them cope with stress). As we age we lose a lot of hormones so hormone replacement using bioi-dentical hormones would help women immensely.

Thank you. In my experience controlling severe osteoporosis, I found after the use of MACA 😮the level stopped to increase and another level started to get better.

that s was a great video full of useful informations. i am much worried about the persistent inflammation. in the body. is this an issue which can be addressed??? thank you

    • @collegenatmed

Hi Elena - thanks for the great feedback. Please don’t worry about this, because this can most certainly be addressed. Bone changes all the time and so it is a very adaptable structure in the body. The key thing is finding out why you have chronic inflammation in the body and addressing it accordingly. This is where seeing a naturopathic practitioner can be so helpful. Hope this helps!
