As soon as I had her, a doctor accepted me, and I've been clean ever since. If they had taken her simply for having drugs in her system, foster care would have another child they couldn't take care of, and I'd be in a gutter somewhere. While I think addicts should be temporarily sterilized, since that isn't the law today, it should be on a case by case basis.

As a former pregnant addict, I think they should be mandated to take birth control until they get clean. While getting pregnant made me get clean, that's not the case with the majority. We need to protect innocent children.
Well alot if places have opened up for pregnant women that want to get clean. I know of about 3 programs in my area for pregnant women, that includes detoxes and inpatient and an outpatient that stay with you til a year postpartum.
Mannn I cried having to leave my daughter to go back to work, and I miss her so much when I’m at work, every day I get off I’m basically running out those doors to go get my baby with the most excitement in my heart EVEN if I am tired. I can’t imagine my baby not living with me 😢 I can’t imagine not putting her to sleep every night and waking up to her little face every morning. I have a problem with him directing everything he says to the Mother of the child(ren) as if she's the only one coming out there trying to fight his wife/gf, when his wife/gf tried running toward the Mother to fight her too. The girlfriend is emotionally abusing the mother, sending her texts that goad her about how she is caring for her children and she can't have them. The girlfriend seems to get a real, sadistic kick out of having power over the mother, having her ex and her children. I wonder whether that is why she got into the relationship in the first place. She was talking to Steve about how charitable and kind she is, and as soon as the mother came out she couldn't stop goading her and pulling smug faces and smirking at her. She is absolutely pumped up with spite. And unlike the mother, she has no real reason for grievance. The fact that she allows the mother to care for her children and babysit them while also yelling at her "you can't care for your children, you don't know how" shows that she has ulterior motives and a totally different agenda than being 'charitable' and 'caring'.

I don't think they suspect she is on drugs. If they did then I'm sure they would have tested her. I think it was more about her not being as involved as she should be even now she is recovering.
There is no excuse to do drugs while pregnant especially crack which is mentally addictive but it’s not like heroin, meth, benzos, or alcohol where you go through a horrible physical withdrawal and so does the baby. She comes out like trash she is trash. I was a heroin addict for 10 years and I got clean and then I had my son. I had 2 1/2 years clean and I was injured and relapsed (cause I’ve had 4 spine surgeries, hip surgery, and heart surgery so I was an addict originating from opioid pain meds including OxyContin). I gave my son to his dad. I saw him daily just not by myself cause I couldn’t bear it if something happened to my child due to my own stupidity. I got clean again very quickly and now have 9 years and a husband and 3 children (1 a new baby) and life is great. I would never use drugs while pregnant. There is no excuse. I used birth control the entire time I was an addict til I had over a year clean to take care that I didn’t even have the chance to pollute a poor defenseless baby.
My sister went on a “speed” diet when she was pregnant coz she didn’t want to get fat smh baby was born wirh skin tags, eye lid was connected to the eyebrow and the corner of her mouth was longer than the other side and had to have surgery to correct. People do stupid things for vanity Ps my sister blamed genetics, there are no defects in our family.
If the mother really wanted to see her kids why didn't she show up at those court dates for the 3rd or 4th time. She's not putting any effort towards this. The girlfriend should commended for efforts. Why the mother yelling at her is utterly nonsense!

I never even needed to hit my kids. They were good. They acted like kid's. They refused to clean their rooms, they talked back and threw fits. They missed curfew, they called me to pick them up drunk. They were messy, and drove me crazy. I never hit them or made them miserable. How can anyone be happy if their kids are not happy?

I never even needed to hit my kids. They were good. They acted like kid's. They refused to clean their rooms, they talked back and threw fits. They missed curfew, they called me to pick them up drunk. They were messy, and drove me crazy. I never hit them or made them miserable. How can anyone be happy if their kids are not happy?
