    Finally someone that uses a interlocking method. I was getting a little discouraged because a lot of people that are growing dreads seem to really hate this method. I started off with this method a month ago because my scalp has a special condition which means I have to wash my scalp literally every week with dandruff shampoo otherwise I get a very flaky scalp. That is the only reason I didn’t start off with the twisting because I know it will unravel quickly if I wash every week. It’s crazy because that is initially how I wanted to start off but I decided to do the instant loc and interlock them. This is my second time interlocking my hair because I had an insane amount of new growth within less than a month.
    I decided to loc my hair in the In the first place because I have extremely thick hair and it’s always a pain to get these complex hairstyles so I said to hell with it I am going to loc my hair. People seem not to like the interlocking dread method because they say it thins your hair. But after doing a little research it seems what really thins people hair is switching different methods which I absolutely will not do . I will stick to the interlocking method and I won’t which up different methods my only quarrel is that I want to have a thicker dread loc Which is why I told the hair tech lady to not do too many locks; And after doing a little more research every time she interloc day here I will tell her not to do too many loops. The look I want to achieve is a thick-ish; and neat dread loc look

    I'm so happy to see *another loc content creator who interlocks*. I myself use a safety pin as its been the least amount of hassle to use. I have a few interlocking videos on my channel but i don't retighten very often.I interlock every 3.5-4 months depending on what I have going on. I started interlocking 5 months into my journey using the 4 pt rotation...but I will be changing to either the 3pt or 2pt rotation soon to encourage my roots thickening further. Great video!

      So the 2pt thickens the loc as compared to the 4pt?

    • @ChristandLocs
      @ChristandLocs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Nomhle Sekga I wouldn’t say it thickens it, it’s just not as likely to thin it out

    • @nomhlesekga654
      @nomhlesekga654 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ChristandLocs I'm looking for a method that will work for me I want one that will help my locs be thicker. I started with instant locs and I want to maintain the locs on my own. Locticians are expensive. I started with comb coil and my hair did not loc and I had to comb them out and do instant locs

    • @ChristandLocs
      @ChristandLocs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Nomhle Sekga unfortunately because instant Locs are usually started by crocheting, the width of the Locs shafts of these types of starter Locs are somewhat set in stone..... you can still protect the new growth as it comes in by doing the 2pt rotation though.

    • @RebekahElaine
      @RebekahElaine  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi there, I haven’t gotten holes, but I have gotten knots. I think the whole may come from going from the same direction 2 or 3 times in a row. I usually say aloud “up, left, down, right” to make sure I don’t go in the same direction twice.

    I don't know if you'd see this but please what point rotation do you use and can tell me how to go about a 3 point rotation? Like say up, down, left and back to up down left...
    I hope you get my point something I can repeat to myself while doing it so I don't make mistakes and know where to go please.

    • @RebekahElaine
      @RebekahElaine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I know exactly what you mean. So I use a 4-point rotation and usually say to myself “up, left, down, right” and when I get to the front I’ll say “up, forward, down, backwards”. I’ve never done a three point rotation. But if I did, I’d imagine it would go “right, down, left, down, right, down...”

    • @EmpressDPhoenix
      @EmpressDPhoenix 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@RebekahElaineThanks so much for responding. Please in explaining the points food you mean down, right, left, and down right up instead of down right down you wrote? I'm sorry I just want to be sure it wasn't a mistake. Secondly do 4 points rotation make your locs stiff please?

    • @RebekahElaine
      @RebekahElaine  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t want to go left and right back to back because that can create a hole in your loc. Whenever you go from the side, you should always follow it with going from the top or bottom.
      Also, the 4-point rotation hasn’t made my locs stiff
