    Great debate.At this juncture I wish to state that urban voters who are well informed do not take part in polling.Had they cast their votes the country could have fair have representatives.Hence voting should be made compulsory to every voters in India in addition to the suggestion made by Suhel.The very loss of Manishankar elections indicate We Indians do not respect the education qualification and the rich experience one has.

    This guy is a hypocrite. Said that democracy was India's greatest weakness but goes on to say in 2023 that he doesn't mind if dictatorships come to power and wipe themselves along with others(source= TIMES NOW). Flowery words with no substance- rather style without substance is the way to go for Seth it seems.

    As DR.Ambedkar Who was the President of Indian Constitution Written Committee Know It is the Best Constitution still the person of the govt. who are chosen to practice is good. and If the Person who are practice this constitution is bad this constitution will down the people of India to his history. It is all about the practicing the constitution in manner for what it was return to do..but no political party in India practice true constitution.

    Context is lacking here. For all its flaws, India is a tremendous and subtle positive force in the world (unlike some of the terrorist states in that region). Turning around a 1.2 billion person behemoth with one of the most diverse populations anywhere in the world, takes time. Meanwhile, India is really good about NOT terrorizing other countries, and NOT causing the genocide of 300 million native americans, and NOT spreading our values/culture through violent imperialism, in our quest to improve our own bottom line. Anyone that tries to view India through a western lens, or through western language constructs, is missing the point of India, entirely.

    When it comes to reforms in the Indian constitutions, the major factor that's hindering it is again the Democracy itself. In a democracy you cannot work without keeping the interests the 1.2 crore Indians that you are talking about. Decision making is always slow in it. Sooner or later we are bound have those reforms. Being in a fool's paradise is totally out of question when it comes to the point that Indian constitution is the best constitution in the world. I really take pride in it.

    It's funny he asked that at the end, I think the British should rule them a second time and clean up the place only this time using todays English, secular norms and values yet still allowing the countries traditions to shine through and I see no reason why they wouldn't allow that. Just an opinion.

    • @naiyayika
      @naiyayika 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      He's not wanting the British to come back. What he wants is a Vedic or Indic form of democracy over the Western or American form of democracy which is just anarcho-capitalist consumerism.
      Our philosophy is the greatest in history, so that should be base in civilizational terms.
