Jared, I have been watching for about the past year, and you have quickly become my favorite channel. If you would post an episode daily... I would enthusiastically watch you daily! I visit my daughter and her family in Baton Rouge a couple of times a year and can't wait to visit St. Bernard Parish in November (during thxgvng). You are an amazing ambassador for St Bernard Parish and for all things afield or afloat. I wish you continued (and rapid) growth with your terrific channel.
Your videos are awesome. Thank you for doing what you do. Especially like that you throw back what you don't want to eat or don't know about, like that eel. I also learn a ton on different ways to fix the fish and shrimp. 😊
Eel are delicous. You boil the meat and its like redfish texture. good stuff. enjoy your videos. Brings me back the memories of fishing with my dad at Stump lagoon. I live in texas now and there is a difference. In louisiana the marsh land you can disappear. In texas everwhere you fish there are a lot of people and you have 5g for perspective. haha.
Eel is easy to clean, same as a fish or a snake. Straight down behind the mouth to vent, then scoop out the innards. To eat them, i find it best to scrub down with lightly salted water with lemon juice to clean the slime off, then lightly season and smoke them. Leave the skin on to retain some moisture. You can eat it like smoked trout or salmon.
eel is the best catfish bait ive ever used (besides live bait). you can cut one up and get enough to bait all your jug lines and they stay hook pretty good. you can also just eat them not fun to clean but taste way better than you would think
J if you down in Braithwaite aka Caernarvon they have a good catfish spot behind the old trade school over the levee. Cast the line way out, set pole in sandbar and watch it fall from the hit. We caught some 10+ lbs cats out of there many times. Some filled with corn from the ships offloading at the docks up river. Another spot is right across from the Braithwaite post office on the river. You should see an opening where the fishing takes place. Cast your line about 20 feet and let the current take it. The pole will stay in a bend form due to current but keep fingers on line to feel bites. You will catch big stripe bass all day long at that spot
Hey Jared , my Mum used to love Eel. I don't know how She cleaned it cause we would all run🤣. Alright, Catfish for dinner 🎉. It was the same here. I got the Patio all cleaned off and put to bed👍. I like Duck camp😊. Everything except Zucchini looks yummy🎉. JO JO IN VT 💞🍁🎃
I have a challenge for you. Find like 4-5 weird baits to catch fish/crabs if you can’t afford worms, shrimp. For instance, look up koolaid wieners for bait, I saw some guys using marshmallows and catching big catfish. Try can corn, black eye peas, and maybe (don’t laugh) ivory soap. A few old timers told me they use to catch fish with ivory bar soap. I’ve never tried it. It would be interesting to find out. And a few people told me they have cooked fish in the dishwasher. They seasoned it, put a couple of lemon slices. Double wrapped it in foil and put it in the dishwasher for a cycle. I even saw it on TH-cam. Just a suggestion
I lived at a hill top farm in New Hampshire. We didnt even have a pond. One rainy day i found an eel making its way across the short grass of our pasture. I would never eat one i do t think.
I hope you would catch catfish! Brim are good skin them, gut them and cut their heads off then salt, pepper coat in cornmeal fry them up crisp and um good! 🥰👵🏻

Your roadside ditches are bigger than some of our rivers here in Ky. 😊
Good like the squirrel hunting videos too
I enjoy that you use a camera set up for your videos nice video
What I do is rig to fish on bottom then put a small cork right above leader. Gets the bait out of crabs and trash fish.
I do that to stay just above grass flats.
Living the dream!!
Like the videos
Great catch
Eel is really tasty, especially smoked.
Ells are good smoked plus they make awesome bait
i love how you catch a bass then a red.
Jared
I can't find a large shrimp dip net. Where did you get yours. Love all your videos.

I lived at a hill top farm in New Hampshire. We didnt even have a pond. One rainy day i found an eel making its way across the short grass of our pasture.
I would never eat one i do t think.
That was one Beautiful Redfish with the 5 spots!
Do you fish in the cold months? If so,what are you catching brother?
Bro that eel is the best eating you've caught, butterfly it open and grill it over open fire, you won't regret it.. look up unagi , japanese
Fresh water eels are Common food and considered a delicacy in New Zealand
Another fun day Jared... Delacroix Highway???
Smoked eel is some of the best smoked fish I've had.
can u still launch in the caernovan canal? I know a great spot back there for crab, redfish and bass.
That's the beauty of brackish water everything is there
Just curious you have a awesome new boat and yet you've been doing a ton of roadside stuff why is something wrong with the boat
I hope you would catch catfish! Brim are good skin them, gut them and cut their heads off then salt, pepper coat in cornmeal fry them up crisp and um good! 🥰👵🏻
Smoked eel is very good. It’s also a great catfish bait.
I've caught a bunch of fish with some cut shrimp eel. It's tough meat. I bet it would be really good smoked.
No big predators like Peacock, Snake Head, etc..
1st Redfish was small but thats exactly what I was thinking of
The Black Drums looked like their cousins Red Drums and Sheepheads, but why there are worms in them but not the other 2 species?
Mercy!!!!
Eels are great from the grill or barbecued.
bit much for me lol
Is this brackish water?
Please film a few duck hunts this year. I don't care if you're shooting coots or greenheads, I'll be watching you can count on that.
Eel make great bait, stays on the hook.
Should save the eels and use them for Specs
Elks make good cut bait
Was that an amphiuma?
Do a video of Flounder gigging at night , walking the sandbars
The mullet would better than the catfish to eat.
Eels are tasty but it can be too bony for some people to eat. The Japanese use it to make sushi but they had to de-bone it first.
Yikes. Think I will
Pass
What's that big fish he caught at the end called? Anyone?
It’s called a black drum
@@OutsidetheLevees Thanks
You missed out on some good eating with that eel, they are delicious when cooked right
Teach me I can make a trip there
Deep fried Catfish poor boy sandwich ❤
Channel catfish are the best catfish to eat.
Don't use anything acidic with aluminum foil.
Alzheimer's is no joke.
Why don't you have your rod handled Banded with tap at 1" spacing to measure your catch to determine if legal.
Where you fish at
not many places in the world u can catch that many different species of salt and fresh water in the same spot.
I personally would like to see all the hunting even the duck hunting
Time to do a oyster video brother
Enjoy you fishing on the side of the road, but not a fan of the bar be que fish
