Wonderful job, especially the trucks out there & men working to get rid of harmful debris. These men & women deserve a standing ovation. Admirable putting their lives on the line for City of Tampa. God please you all.
Me and my family have hotel reservations for tomorrow through Sat. We are in zone A. We usually don't evacuate and the great thing is we are not going very far we're just going to be out of the flood zone. And as Governor DeSantis says you don't have to go hundreds of miles just tens of miles and that's what we are doing. Stay safe Tampa!
Mayor Castor please be aware these are not rumors on the internet. Having a few gas stations in a huge place like Tampa to be open for gas. For everyone who's needing it is poor rain. I've always thought of you as being an honest politician, but please do not say that there is gas available. I live in pinellas county and there is no gas available, and if you have a few gas stations only open, that's not the job that we need to be done. We also need gasoline in the area for people to get to keep their generators running. We all know we are all going down power, wise and I am 71 years old, but I am quite sure there are people my age that are in desperate need of keeping their air conditioning on. Please do something to move fuel into Hillsboro and penelis county, quicker, that should have been a part of the plan from when we first heard about Milton.
With all due respect, Mayor Castor is the mayor of Tampa not St Pete and there’s no shortage of gas our governor Ron DeSantis made that clear that there’s still gas trucks coming in and they’re on standby, just don’t wait til the last minute to try and go get gas if you need it. Sadly we’re all going to be without power once this hurricane makes landfall if you have a generator that’s great a lot of us do not. As far as how long we’ll be without power will indeed determine how severe the damage is. Update on the hurricane now seems to be moving a tad bit to the south let’s hope and pray it stays going south
Castor has NOTHING to do with St. Pete/ Pinellas/ Clearwater. DeSantis had said that fuel trucks will be running & refilling gas stations along the evacuation route until tomorrow morning. Remember that ALOT of people could drain a gas station in a very short time if each person is filling up trucks and many additional tanks they're filling up.
@@antoniotula262 Oh I know especially the ones with multiple fill ups in 1 vehicle I seen a lot of trucks with multiple large gas tanks covered in the back filling up there should be a limit if someone is going to do that IMO

SOURCE: The Guardian, 'How did Hurricane Milton reach category 5 strength so quickly?' : "This has created one of strongest hurricanes to ever menace the US, even as Milton eased slightly to a category 4 storm amid mass evacuations of the Tampa area on Tuesday. “This is nothing short of astronomical,” said Noah Bergren, a Florida-based meteorologist. “This hurricane is nearing the mathematical limit of what Earth’s atmosphere over this ocean water can produce.”
Ocean water temperature is still in the upper 80s. The strength will change over the course of the day. When it cools down at night the category goes down.
