I love your one hour better philosophy! I’ve been using it to go through a room full of my grandparents stuff I inherited. It was so overwhelming but these one hour chunks have made a huge difference.
Girl, I went HAM on my house this morning. It started with a dead spider in the corner/ceiling of the bathroom. Since I had to get the vacuum out for that, I vacuumed the vent and then thought that I should vacuum the cold air return in the living room as well. When I pulled the couch forward to do that, the HORROR of dust and crap underneath was revealed. Of course, I had to vacuum that up and then discovered a bunch of ants in the kitchen so I've been doing battle with them and cleaning up all the crumbs. Your video (and coffee) were a much needed break!
I used to do that when I was a nanny. Cut up a whole bunch of veggies for lunch time then let the kids go to town on the veggies. Then make dinner with whatever veggies were left.
So kind of your neighbor to have thought about you and given all those supplies so your children can use them. Some people would have just tossed everything (kills me how wasteful some people can be!)
I wouldn’t worry about your son chewing on markers etc. Children normally have a chewing sensation fascination and will outgrow it over time. He’s absolutely 💯 adorable. I love 💕 your new fairy 🧚🏾♀️ lights in the kitchen- I’d like to try this in my kitchen as well. I hope you’re doing better regarding depression- my depression is improving much with the longer spring days and sunshine ☀️
I absolutely love the one hour better videos... They have really made a difference in my life... I just did an hour better before I saw your video... It's been raining in Texas so this morning I decided to go pull weeds. Wish I could post a picture... I am not an outside person whatsoever... However, I thought it'll go by fast and it did... My treat was to come inside and watch your video... Thanks so much for all your encouragement...❤
See you have posted a video makes my day! Must be something in the Texas air. Slept from 5:45 to 8 yesterday. Then got up and did my evening chores. Hello from Central Texas! I did an hour better yesterday morning. Got the bathroom 100%, dustmopped the hardwood and vinyl floor, wiped everything down in the kitchen and made my bed. All before the timer went off!
When I was younger with a full time job, I would spend one hour on Friday evening straightening up my home and starting a load of laundry, loading the dishwasher, and so on, getting a jump start towards catching up on my mess. I consider doing my own housework as a DIY project.
Great idea! Personally I think of chores as a way to taking care of myself, to give me a nice comfortable environment, but I really like your approach.
Haven’t been able to watch yet because of darn work. But so happy to see this!!! Fingers crossed it inspires me to partake in some weekend cleaning. 🤣😩🤣😩
I was watching this again and thought I'd thank you for giving the ingredients for the power wash and the rectangular veggie tray. Yes, the Tupperware one is huge! Love the soap stand, always nice to corral everything. Hope you're doing well. Praying for you and your family. Take care, Linda 🦋
Looking very good! And I adore the lights - that purple would be lovely at night, I think. I'm so sorry for little pup's injury, I can imagine how terribly traumatic that would have been for everyone and you having to keep your head to get her to the vets. I didn't know it was such a common event - that is scary - hugs to you all and to little pup 🤗
Both. Today I have some chores to do, errands to run and some fun to have and relax with some mamas I love and eat some food. 😊 And some fun to have with the kids. Need to pause the video and grab a shower but know that I don't wanna because you rock. 😎
We’ve fostered many kittens that have had to have eyes removed. It does seem terrible but they do great with it and go on to live full happy lives. My best to your dog and kiddos! ☮️❤️
Its nice to see what u can accomplish in an hour. I am tackling our attic and organizing schoolstuff which is quite overwhelming with a newborn and a 3 year old But i say to myself just to do each evening 5 minutes Which helps me to get started Usually I can do longer but i can do a little bit at the time
Glad to see you! You got a bunch accomplished! Go gurl!!! So sorry about your dog. That’s such a bummer! I’m working on getting the flower beds planted. Popped in for toast and some Shannon break! /I can so relate to the #wetbellyteam. I can just get a glass of water and look down and there’s a wet belly. Washing dishes takes it to a whole other level. 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️Have a great weekend!! ❤❤❤ hugs Em
I'm always excited to see a new video from you. They help me feel motivated, but also normal for not having it all together all the time. I totally forgot about the compartmentalized veggie trays. I used to run a dayhome and used it all the time. I think I might start using it again to get both my kiddo and myself eating more fruits and veggies.
I haven’t been crafty lately because I was caregiving my mom until she passed last month. I am trying to get my inspiration to sew/craft back, but I’ve been decluttering and organizing to fill my time. I’ve really been enjoying using Dana K White’s no mess decluttering system. Her progress and only progress, better = success, take it there now mantras have been SO helpful.
@@LeafLikeOnATree Thank you so much. She had dementia, so it was like she left me in inches. You do a lot of anticipatory grieving when someone has a long illness.
Taking an unexpected rest day. I've been cleaning up a bookcase and sorting everything on it, get it in containers/storage and just as it was finished, realized the whole bookcase was broken and a shelf is coming apart. So now I wait for him to put me together a new one. What a frustration. Anyway, love the grey baskets from target, they're some of my favorites. And always look forward to your content. Best wishes always.
Good morning! 🌞 Just got up, enjoying a coffee and watching my favorite youtuber! Yay for a good energy day! You did good! My kids have a day off school, so Im gonna use them to make the house one hour (or more) better, lol. Then go finish putting the veg garden in. And then later we're gonna go move some cows to pasture, which is actually one of the most fun and satisfying days of the year! Thanks for the video - have a good day! 😁
Nothing beats dawn for years I have been trying to get everything done by 7pm I make a list of things I want to get done in the morning then I try to see what I can get done by 7 love your videos
Oh Shannon!! Love, Love this FUN, upbeat, video. You & the house looking SO good!! That’s a great idea of getting the kitchen clean before bedtime. Waking up to a clean kitchen starts the day off on a positive note. Would love to see you do some DIY creations!! You always have such creative ideas. I use to be craft too. Hope to start myself soon. Love & Miss you & those munchkins. ❤❤❤
you still can put the dish soap in the white container and the hand soap in the clear container. It would just take a couple empty jars to temporarily hold them as you switch them over
Awww your baby girl's eye 😢. I'm so sorry. I can't imagine how traumatic that was for everyone. I had a cat that got a scratch on his eye. After 5 years of ointment daily, it finally had to be removed. He did just fine afterward and lived to be an old man.
This was such a motivating video. I usually watch then go & do, but I had to pause & tackle then come back and watch more & pause & it just keep going like this for your whole video. LOVE LOVE LOVED it today. Thanks for the inspiration. ~Samantha
Great to see a video from you today! Definitely inspires me to do a hour better clean! Wanted to share something about the extreme nail biting your seeing in your little one. My best friend was just diagnosed with high functioning autism and the specailist did a deep dive on her childhood. She found out that the reason for her extreme nail biting and pen cap/ earaser chewing that started at 4 or 5 years old, was because that was a self soothing "stimming" thing that many kids on the spectrum do. She still struggles with it today but its better at managing it. Definitely something to speak to a doctor about and look into. Also if one kid has it, make sure to look at your other kids for neurodivergence (ADHD and/or Autism) symptoms as well, since it often runs in famlies. Girls often don't get diagnosed until adulthood because their symptoms are far more subtle and different than little boys. Lots of great vidoes on youtube here about it. Best of luck!
Good Morning what a channel you have such a great personality i helped you clean it all could you feel it ,going to go do my own house now have a great day ..
My son had a speech delay and the therapist said part of his skipping through his mouth exploratory phase was to blame. So here I was telling my 3 year old to put stuff in his mouth! Mind blown! 🤯 😂
I didn’t realize you could put a griddle into the sink that far. I’ve been afraid of ruining the electronics but it sure would make it easier to clean.
Yep! I just try and keep the electrode plug from being submerged. I do believe the instructions said it was dishwasher safe even! I haven’t tried that. It is so easy to clean by hand I don’t waste the space in my dishwasher.
You have special ‘nail polish’ that u can apply on the nails that gives a disgusting taste It can help for him to stop biting my nails. I used it as a kid too It really helped
Yes it’s such a good one and probably worth me reading again because it is packed with good nuggets of information. I’m sure if I read it again different things would stand out.
It made me a little light headed, but adrenaline kicked in thankfully and we got her taken care of. I had a huge adrenaline crash that day. It was an interesting experience for sure!
That's a lovely kitchen and you knocked it out of the park with that one hour. I have often wondered about LED under counter lights. Are they mains power or battery?
Maybe get your son a toddler chew stick. I got one for my girl when her molars came in and she still uses it now that her jaw is growing. If you search Toddler chew stick and you’ll get a ton of options ❤
My children also only have one volume. Loud.... Well unless they are trying to tell me something Important in the car they whisper and I can't hear them.... Even if they were just loudly singing some song. 😂😂
You look as though you've lost weight. You always look great but thought I'd mention it. Poor Gidget, traumatizing for everyone! She'll just be "Gidget the One-Eyed Wonder" from now on. Yes, I'd love to see the master bedroom makeover as well as any diy. I love your channel and watch a video every day so it's great to have a new video. Take care, Linda 🦋
Do you have any of those silicone necklaces. They make ones that look like Legos or super hero things. I have had some chewers. I think they said there's actually like eight senses.... There are normal five and then proprioception, vestibular, and interoception. (I think that's how you say all them) anyhow proprioception though I think has to do with chewing and also pushing against objects like they want to be able to feel themselves in space. So these are the off in the kids they're chewing on different things. Also this could be the kids that literally run into things or bounce off of people or things. Vestibular is more like the spinning around and swinging type thing cuz it has to do with balance in your inner ear.
At least Two of my ADHD did have some chewing issues. When we made certain dietary changes that has helped with that and they don't anymore... At least not in a disruptive manner or as often. I do notice if my daughter has to have something she would normally avoid that comes back or heightens it. Like a certain preservative in medicine does it and dyes.
There was a speaker I listen to the one time. Her name is Wendy Bertagnole. She did a talk and mentioned sensory cups and how sometimes our cups are bigger in certain categories and smaller in others. She was talking about how finding ways for them to meet that need can help fill that cup for them or avoiding things that would fill a small cup to fast. Or something along those lines. Can't link the talk because it was in a summit but definitely listen to some of her talks or videos or something if you Google her. Helped me see sensory stuff in a different light or be mindful/ give me ideas. ❤
All this was very interesting I need to look into it. The interesting thing is my two other chewers also have ADHD. I suspect Eric is too, but hasn’t been diagnosed. We also noticed significant differences in diet changes
You have such a great sense of humor. I love how honest and open you are!
