Few years back, my mom had TCM on in the background one morning. No one was paying attention, then all of a sudden, I notice there's a movie with all dogs performing in a theater. We were so baffled by what we were seeing, but laughed at how silly it was. I wish there had been more documented behind the treatment of these doggos, though in the footage you can tell they were uncomfortable having to be upright on their hind legs for many of the scenes (I don't see why they couldn't have the dogs on all fours to perform; they dress and act like humans, they don't need to walk like humans to get the parody angle across). If these were made nowadays, I'm sure they'd do well, and given how hard people push to ensure animal safety in film, they'd most certainly be made with the dogs' wellbeing kept in mind.
I found one episode as a child (6 years old) because I was up at 3 am and was browsing channels. Thought it was supposed to be All Dogs Go To Heaven-type stuff but BOY WAS I WRONG LMAO 🤣 and better yet, NO ONE BELIEVED ME BECAUSE I COULDNT REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS CALLED FOR SO LONG 😩
this would be a cool idea for nowadays in colour, but sadly probably won't be this funny.... and tons of people would scream "animal cruelty" endlessly if they don't post a video of the dogs getting massaged and petted every 5 minutes
