The word politics comes from the Greek word Polis (City or nation). It means running the affairs of a nation or City. In this regard what I see in Ghana is not the politics I have been exposed to. Currently Ghana practice what I call polifamilia and poliparty. This simply means: they come to power to work for their friends, families and respective parties in the city and not the development of the citizens. Now the blatant and glaring truth is that we must forget these two parties if we really want to develop as a nation. It has to be done because they have failed woefully despite the numerous opportunities we have given them as a country. This type of politics can only be accepted in a nation where the culture frown upon critical thinking and logical reasoning but hails fanaticism and pure party politics. This phenomenon only leads to the satisfaction of personal egos and selfish interest.
