Project Dragon was a multiplayer sandbox action-adventure that was in the making at Phoenix Labs. Picture something like Minecraft meets Breath of the Wild sprinkled with some elements from games like Stardew Valley, set in a universe not based on any existing IP.
We got to contribute a lot of concepts, 3D environment assets, props, and 3D characters work over the course of 3 years.
Sadly, the game was canceled a short while ago.
While it breaks our hearts that you will never get to see Dragon (a codename, obviously) in its fully realized form, we're grateful that we are allowed to show the art we contributed, providing a glimpse at this wonderful and whimsical world that we loved to work on alongside a terrific team at Phoenix Labs that we loved to work with.
In this video you can see how the player could customize their characers, using many components that Airborn Studios got to do 3D work on.

@@KyProRen the whole project was canceled. unless some miracle happens, it’ll never be released as a playable game. it’s really sad to see a project, that clearly had a lot of passion and care put into it, just dropped like that :((
The character randomizer is so good! I NEED THIS GAME

I've stumbled across environmental concept art for this game a few days ago and looks great! Totally something i would like to play with friends. Unfortunate it got canceled...

I'm so devastated this would have been incredible, how on earth is such a stunning game cancelled, what I would give to play this game for just a day or two
I know the chances of this happening are abysmally small, but I'd love to be able to actually play around with this character, either with a webapp or even just a simple executable that only runs the character creator.

Damn shame it got cancelled, probably would have loved this game. Not a lot of games that let you play as a faun (among my favorite fictional species).
At the same time it's kinda understandable it got cancelled. The market's saturated with open-world sandbox games as it stands.

I'd actually pay 2 bucks just to get access to that character editor and make pretty looking characters for my roleplay sessions!

@@cheychc all servers are down. Everything that is public is material that had been recorded a while ago. There is no way to record anything anymore

Technical question : I'm wondering something about the body type selection. Does someone know if it's handle via bone scaled directly from the rig, or handled by pre-made Blendshapes on body and clothes ?
It's blendshape based. One generic version is made, then automatically deformed into the more unique body shapes.
Seriously, whoever at Phoenix Labs decided to cancel this should get fired immediately and never get a job in the gaming industry ever again.
This is a gem an absolutely beautiful one.

@@lykan2 they are the developer and they fought for their games to be made. this was decided higher up the foodchain at their parent company.
A "certain corner of the internet" is gonna have a total hay day with this.

@@SoultrailStudio doing what out of what? All the content is owned by our client and ultimately their parent company. We have permission to show things, but we cannot use what we do not own.
