Got my vinegar stain brewing outside as I speak. Seeing this, I'm going to tea stain my project first. Great video, thanks!

if anyone wants an all natural food safe finish, start with a layer of cooking grade sesame or walnut oil, then rub in by hand a melted mix of coconut oil and beeswax. using coconut oil makes it easier to get a workable mix, cause it's solid at room temperature, but liquid at skin temperature. Easy to work with without being melty. By hand is important, cause it *will* pick up fibers from a cloth. Make sure your hands are clean too, or you'll get dirt and stuff in it. the nut oil darkens the grain further and makes any colors in the wood richer, and occasionally iridescent. It will also smell delicious for months after each coat.

When it gets to the color/shade you want, how do you stop the vinegar/tea solution from staining more? How soon will it dry so you can seal it?

If you're using canning jars, you could melt the beeswax in your oven at it's lowest temperature, and then mix in your mineral oil.

I added steel wool to a gallon of distilled vinegar in a bucket with the shredded steel wool-for a week and nothing happened?????? So I put less in a smaller container using same stuff and no change in color???????

Great info. Pretty hard to follow which parts of the swatches you mean when you’re not pointing to them. Maybe you can add some graphics w little arrows that point to what you’re referring

Very informative video! Im new to painting wood. Im going to try this for my kitchen cupboard doors. Is sanding enough for prepping new wood? Or should i apply wood protection or something, as a first coat? I am hoping to do your tea and steel wool and tea stain. Then make my own wax using the recipe you have given. Im so happy I need not use harmful chemicals! Thank you!

Did you experiment at all with wood conditioner before using the tea and vinegar solutions? Wondering if it would give a better/more even result..
