Honestly he might be one of the best all-around fisherman in the platform. I know he doesn't do a ton of bass but when it comes to the ManSask big 3 (walleye/pike/trout) he's the king!

I went into Russell video to grab a drink when I was working in the area and was completely blown away by the tackle selection and quality items.
I love that you explain what you do to find the fish and give all those advices. It is great to see you are not over relying on your live imaging. Most fishermen don't have access to it. I stop watching channels that are now just live imaging shows. Would love to see you disect a bit more how you fish rocks and when. Thanks !

All of my years on LOTW the upper 30’s pike were plentiful and we took them for granted
Love it Clayton that’s gotta be real close to your PB. I believe you said it was 47 inches, but I’m not 100% sure though. The last I can remember that was close to that size was a 44 inch fish, when you were fishing with carter on the fly! Great video!

For fixing those big swimbaits on the fly, that gel loctite that bass fishermen use for Zman baits works wonders! I've kept my Line-Thru trout alive for years 😅

Nice!!, Clay would y believe I had a mid 40's and it got loose at the boat, heck all I wanted was a single pic, oh well. So many quality fish in one video! Didn’t spend enough time in the boat this year… between cattle, weather and life… hopefully get out a few times for the fall bite! If not bring on hard water. I can’t be the only one crazy excited already 😅

Watching you net that pike i was like come on, it's not that big. Then i saw you grab the gill plate and see your hand compared to the head of it and was like hold up that's huge haha. Awesome video man

Another way I found to get snags out only really works with treble hook lures now jigs. If you drop your rod and grap the line then pull it tight and let it go like a bow or a sling shot. This seems to be really affective. Good video as always Clayton

Hey Clayton - what’s your thoughts on the bass swim bait rods vs a musky rod?
Ive used MH musky rods in the past for glide baits and bulldawgs, but have been digging into the savage gear lures you show on your videos and just wanted to pick your brain when it comes to rod selection.

Another quality video and giant fish ! It would be very help to add what kind of spots you are fishing ( weedy bay, main lake weeds etc)
He’s says between 1:30 and 3:00 minutes what’s he’s fishing on!

I thought I said what rod I was using at the end of the video? 10 feet is, and mid water column :) Bucktails I like 1-2 feet below the surface.

I love my Abu Garcia Ambassador 6500. Do not get the asian made, make sure its from Sweeden. Just my opinion.

The leader I was using is made to use a snap, I just removed the snap :)

@@ClaytonSchickOutdoors Very true. I'm out of touch with the price of some of these 😁 I remember buying (read Dad buying) Rapala's as a kid and they were expensive for $7. My stomach hit the floor a couple years ago when I grabbed about 5 of them and it was $100 give or take.
