You guys ever used 2 small trebels for the live bait? Over here in the UK we tend to use two and dont really go much bigger than a size 2 most people use 4s or 6s. The small hooks penetrate a lot easier and are harder for the fish to throw. Maybe give it a go next time you get the chance :)
Great catches guys. Those pike have such cool and beautiful colors. I really like the hints of pink and purple mixed with the green and white. So glad ya's got a day of decent action and the Michael teleportation trick was hilarious.

Was it Sunday when you guys where fishing? My buddy and I also ended a slime slump we got 4 muskies, 3 34 to 36 inches and a nice 44 incher. Our feeding window was 10 am to 1 pm. I got beat 3 to 1 and lost out on big fish, but I don't mind it was great to get slimed again.
Beautiful fish! seen plenty of different coloured pike but never come across pike quite like those in the US with that purple/blue sheen and 80 billion spots.

After rewatching this, just curious, are pike at all like bass when it comes to cold water and jerk baits? The best pike fishing for me was always the husky jerk. Firetiger, gold, blue/silver, clown and some kind of light brown crawdad color. They all have shred marks

Small hooks are weaker and require more finesse to use on big fish.

I love pike fishing i am also in canada. Never got to fish for muskie yet.
Pike are pretty dumb compared to Muskie... Both are fun but Muskie fishing is by far the hardest fish to catch

You guys should check out the fish brain app, it’s free but also really good for fishing forecasts. Me personally have never failed using it.

So you let them take the bait on the float for a good 5 seconds before setting the hook ?
Just make sure the fish is going away from you when you set.
