  • Swimbaits and big swimbaits have been a favorite of mine for a long time for Pike and BIG PIKE!! A lot of people know I have been guiding Pike for 20 years now and they are a special species to me and I always enjoy my day of hunting for a BIG PIKE!

    There are several different glues out there that you can fix your torn swim baits!! I use a Krazy glue product for that, works good 😊!!

    These top pour swim baits are not difficult to make Clayton you should consider trying to make some.
    Maybe you could show up Jay's Jigs with Schick's Swim Baits 😁

    The screw thing you put in the front of the rubberbait is called SHALLOWSCREW, for really shallow fishing 0-0,5m. For deeper fishing it is better to use screw in weighted jighead, berkley has a good sortment from 5-80grams for a good price 3/2 pcs for around 3usd.
    Ofcourse you can use a pear weight hanging in the shallowscrew if you want to fish deeper, but i prefer to have my favourite rubberbaits prerigged with different weight heads so i just change the whole bait for different depths. Not cheap having 30-40 completely rigged rubberbaits on hand, but very time efficient when out fishing. Worth it.
    Hi from Sweden btw! Just found your channel, very nice clips! Like them alot i must say! Strange that i often find english spoken channels better that Swedish as we are a famous pike fishing nation, but i dont mind it at all. Keep on in the same fashion and keep on the pikes, let them small minnow walleyes rest ;)

    Always amazing videos! Could you let me know what net you're using? Do you think it's tough enough for musky? I just love how it folds.

    • @ClaytonSchickOutdoors
      @ClaytonSchickOutdoors  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes big enough for a musky, its a Frabil Power Stow, which I don't think they make anymore. Take a look at the StowMaster nets, they are likely a bit better net for that.

    Nice video as usual. I started fishing with pig shad junior in Wollaston lake almost 10 years ago and since then this lure has always been productive (it is even now available at WLL tackle shop 😊). You can even enhanced this lure by using a Miuras mouse head (small for the pig shad junior and big for pig shad or giant pig shad) and I already received some orders for my next year trip to WLL 😂. There are now a lot of swimbaits (soft and hard) on the market and I love fishing with Headbanger firetail and also with Fatnose which are both pike magnets (Headbanger somewhat known in North America thanks to Jay Siemens but Fatnose is definitely something that I am sure the pikes have never seen at WLL !). Can’t wait to go back next year (mid-august) even though I have understood you may no longer be there yourself. Keep posting these very good videos and enjoy your fall pike fishing sessions 😅.

    Well, nobody can deny that you can hammer pike and walleye and lake trout, but you should get weird more. Fish for carp and bullhead and goldeye and all those funky things! Nevertheless, great video. You consistently put out the best fishing content on youtube and it is much appreciated!

    • @adamkoindustries88

      @@coltonmason8290 because they are a ton of fun to catch!

    • @coltonmason8290
      @coltonmason8290 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @adamkoindustries88 I guess if you like just sitting there waiting for one to eat your dough ball. The only thing about carp fishing is the fight and it's not even that great compared to a Lake Trout or Pike.

    • @adamkoindustries88
      @adamkoindustries88 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@coltonmason8290 that is totally fair! Though in my experience, a 30-inch carp probably puts up more of a fight than a 30-inch laker or pike. But you are right that it can be a slog.

    Thank you again for this video Clayton. Your little tips and tricks certainly help. I have not used swim baits too much where I'm from but I think most of the lakes i fish they should work perfect. I come from a small town a few hours north of Toronto Ontario. Great job and keep up the great work. I am with craigrock8444 on this one as my biggest pike is probably around 30"-36" (10 lbs) approx.
    Thanks again.
