How did you tape of the letters? I know the inside of the "E" had to be a pain. I wanna do mine. I bought all the paint & primer, just curious how to go about taping the letters off
@@RhinoNinja55 doing mine now because of this vid. Haha. The primer is drying now. I didn't do those stripes on the sides because the taping off from the middle part and "HEMI" on each side aggravated me. Haha. Gonna do the oil dipstick red too, to offset it a bit. Great video. Thank you so much, man.
The paint wrinkles because it wasn't fully cured before you exposed it to the engine heat. When you need think paint to cover imperfections you should paint three coats, wait 24 hours and do three more. Then wait four days, to a week to put it on the car. Best results comes from using a filler primer and a 2k paint. Paint with a catalyst chemically hardens, whereas single stage has to allow the reducer and hardener evaporate out. It seems dry, but as the ser face hardens the process slows down underneath.
Looks good but you need to break up some of the top red, like you said maybe some graphic or just blacking out some of it so its not so much red. It takes away from the Hemi icons and the rest of the cover in my opinion.
really neat to give it a buffs and then clear-coated that would definitely give it the old diamond glaze look to it
Pretty cool!

Nice job 👍
Look better imo to paint the 5.7L V8 black.. otherwise stellar job!
Yes I did cut some black vinyl i had for the 5.7L V8 letters. And thanks man
Looks great
Use some red wire loom around all the wiring and it would look even better
Shawn Burrier I have thought about that
What grit sandpaper paper did you use at each stage?
Has the paint wrinkled ? I did mines a month ago and it ended up wrinkling , but then again I used no primer
Ashley Barrera no it hasn't I used engine enamel by vht
Ashley Barrera the other thing is you have to make sure u get all the grease and oils off of it before you paint
